A glue as good as Zip Dry.

I have looked locally and can't find Zip Dry anywhere.

What glue would you recomend which does the same thing?

I like Glossy Accents. It's very much like Zip Dry (I have both), but takes longer to dry. Zip Dry comes out of the bottle in a thinner strip.

Thanks. I will look for it. The LLS's are begining to carry more stock again.

It was pretty bleak for a while there.

I love my glossy accents and my zip dry. I wouldn't say they are the same or replacements for one another. Zip Dry is not dimensional, and it doesn't have a glossy finish.

I tried the Zip dry glue, It was a new bottle and it was thick and didn't work well,,maybe my glue was an old bottle,,I just bought it at HL cause I had seen so many people like to use it and have suggested it as a good quick drying glue but my bottle was a big fail. Maybe I should try and return it.

You can thin your Zip Dry with a bit of acetone. I do this all the time when mine gets too thick. Same goes for FabriTac!

great idea Amy! I have a few bottles that are pretty thick but I didn't toss them because I *knew* there was a fix! Off to find some acetone, I'm sure there's some here somewhere!

I love the Multi Medium Matte. It isn't glossy like Glossy Accents. It dries clear with a matte finish. Whenever I need a liquid glue, I use this.

I am a big fan of the Best Glue EVER. I love that stuff. I hated Zip glue. Mine was so thick I trashed it.

Jude also try looking for Zip glue in other departments and other types of stores. Sometimes it is with the fabric glues. And I have seen it at hardware stores.

I haven't used it yet, but Fabritac seems to be the new "in" glue. It's in the sewing section at Michaels.:)

I have a fabric tac glue it's excent but I think the brand I bought is not acid free.

I will check out hardware stores for zip dry.

I bought the Scoth glue for now. It has good reviews was easy to find and was reasonable.

I even googled a LSS and went there only to find a note of the door saying they moved out on the 24th. They didn't put that on thier web site. grrr.

And people wonder why LSS's struggle.

I use Fabri-Tac for almost everything -- even gluing down photos. It is a really strong glue and won't wrinkle your paper. Also, you have a few seconds to move things around before it sets. One issue I've found is that it does get stringy some (sort of like a glue gun does). I just read somewhere (maybe on Beacon's website) that if you put petroleum jelly on the top of the bottle, that won't happen. I can't wait to try this!

Great tip! I hate the strings that form when using Fabritac!

Do you have a hobby lobby they always have zip dry. I also love glossy accents but it's more of a dimensional glue. BTW, About the only thing that will keep emblelies on canvas is zip dry.

My favorite glue is Best Glue Ever from ScraPerfect. It dries very fast, and you only need a tiny bit. However it is not a glazing type of glue as it stays super tacky (great for glitters). For glazed dimensional effects I've been happy with Aleene's Paper Glaze.

I tried Zip dry and it dried out fast. So never bought it again.

Now I use Scotch Quick Dry. And Love it. I get it at Joanns either with a 40% coupon or when its on sale at that discount, I buy 2.
