Desk Light recommendations

Hi Everyone

I am looking to purchase a new desk light. I would like something that has a pure bright white light and I have no idea where to start as far as knowing who makes good lamps. I looked in the superstore here, as I thought they used to carry desk lamps but I am not finding any.

If you have a desk lamp that you love (that is still available for purchase somewhere), please tell me about it! I am open to any and all suggestions!

I have the small Ott, I think that is how you spell it, light on my desk. I got it at Jo's after Thanksgiving last year for $20. I love it!!

I bought one that has the bendable neck so I can point it exactly where I need it. It has a large oblong tube that lights up (Came with the lamp) And puts off a very nice, large white light. I have 2 Martha Stewart corner shelving units stacked one on top of the other & this lamp sits atop the highest unit, which I found gives me the best lighting. I have a couple adjustable Ott floor lamps. They are true color.

I have the folding Ott light and I love it! I also have a Daylight floor lamp, and it's great, but I need a new bulb for that one. J's generally has great sales on the Ott lights and refill bulbs often through the year.

I second (or is it third or fourth!) the Ott light!!! I have the flip one on my scrap worktable, my mom uses a floor style one next to her easy chair to knit and read...bought em at J's on sale...love em!!!

Ott Lights! I have 4 of them. Two are on my scrap table, one on my sewing table and the 4th is a battery operated one that goes to crops with me. I cannot scrap or sew without them especially at night.

I have a daylight lamp too (the UK equivalent to OTT I believe) and the light is superb - bright, clean, easy-on-the-eye, "correct". The only disadvantage I found is the shadows. In our kitchen we have LED strips mounted underneath the wall-mounted kitchen cabinets to light up the work surfaces, and the light is superb - no shadows and warm. But you can get daylight LED strips too. I have shelving mounted on both walls in my craft corner just above eye-level. DH is going to mount daylight LED strips on the undersides of the shelves for me.

Well he says he is... We all know that if a man says he's going to do something, he will do it. It's not fair nagging him EVERY 6 MONTHS...

Yep, I have a small OTT that I got very inexpensive at TM's and it clips on my desk, easy to move around and it is PLENTY of light.
