Shot Book for 21st - Zoo Theme

I'm going to be putting together a shot book along with other people for a friend's 21st birthday. Everybody makes a page that has "what, where, when and x (for signature). I've never made one so if anyone has any ideas or suggestions for extra pages besides the pages just for the shots I would appeaciate it.

What do you mean, "extra pages besides the pages just for the shots"??

You may try looking at the gallery here. There are lots of examples of layouts and mini albums.

Doesn't sound like a real good idea to me. I know someone who DIED from alcohol poisoning and some who have ended up in the hospital....

It's really not a good idea. SO many people end up sick and in the hospital from trying to "fill up the book"

I vote for making the "shots" be PHOTOS of the friends --not 21 alcohol shots.

Would be tragic to kill your friend, especially on her birthday.

Young lady, I know you didn't come here for a lecture and you probably think we're all just old fuddy-duds, but please....please....please reconsider doing this. How would you feel if your friend died on her special day? You couldn't live with yourself. So out of care & concern & for no other reason, please reconsider. Make special memories with her & your friends, but please reconsider the shots.

As someone with hepatits, who can never drink again, may not be able to have children, and could potentially need a liver transplant- please don't do this.

How about instead, just make a mini album that your friends can sign and include well wishes? You can add digital photos in after. If you search the gallery for mini album or party, I am sure you will find ideas.

I did my share of drinking when I turned 19, and I had a lot of fun. But doing that amount of shots in a short time is a recipe for disaster.

if you mean alcohol, that is just plain DANGEROUS, wrong, and you COULD feasibly be held legally responsible, civilly responsible and MORALLY responsible if something were to happen to your friend!

when my children turned 21, we made it a special deal to go out to dinner and he had ONE drink,,,,,,that was special! Seriously,,,,take him out for dinner and let him choose one drink,,,,


and SOMEONE ELSE DRIVE!

I've never heard of a shot book, but my coworkers sister died of alcohol poisoning at her 21st birthday party.

Fyi to everyone, these happen every day of every weekend across the country. I think its a shame I came to get some cute ideas for something that is a tradition and you turned it into a lecture. I'm not a teen taking her first drink. I've taken alcohol classes and know many people who have had diseases or died from alcohol. This is a scrapbooking forum, not a soap box for you to turn whatever people write into your chance to dominate a conversation with your bias opinions.

if you are not open to hearing ALL the possible answers to a posed question (and that includes this is a terrible and dangerous idea, what about doing x,y and z instead) perhaps you shouldn't be posting.

I think the real shame is you not accepting the gift of caring that happened here. You're a stranger and yet these wonderful women cared enough about you and your friends to ask you to be safe. Of course these women have BIASED opinions... some of them saw people they love DIE because they did something that you're planning to do.

that being said, take a photo of your friend drinking each shot. that will fill up the book nicely as well as be a record of how much she imbibed should the information be important to someone.

I am so very sorry that you were offended by the caring, well-meaning comments and suggestions made here. We took our time to share experiences, in the hopes that your friend's special birthday would not end in tragedy. I understand many people believe they are invincible and "it can't happen to me"... we took our time to share that IT CAN --and DOES -- HAPPEN!!!


Just because "these happen every day of every weekend across the country," does NOT make it a good idea!! People shoot heroin every day, but that doesn't make it a good choice!!


I think a scrapbook to memorialize your friend's birthday is an EXCELLENT thoughtful thing to do. I'd limit the shots, maybe use a chipboard mini album. Make pages with a space for friends to write well-wishes, and a spot for a photo.
