newspaper clippings

Has anyone ever scrapped newspaper clippings? I have quite a few I've saved over the years and I want to keep them. What do you think is the best way to scrap with them?

Scan them and use the copies, not the originals, or use archival spray on them.

I seal them in clear contact paper.....I just like the "look" of a genuine newspaper article.

I generally store them in pockets away from my pictures as an additional precaution.

I just make a copy on white cardstock, in addition to having it last longer without yellowing, but it's sturdier.

I have only done it once, and I just scrapped it on the page like I did with the photo on the same page.

I have done 2 books of newspaper clippings. Check out my blog I just posted them there. I use the clear contact paper. Just make sure and do both sides of the newspaper so that it does't turn colors over time (at least that's what I was told)

I have scrapped many old and new newspaper clippings. When I copy them, I use the color copier at Kinko's. They use acid-free paper and they come out JUST LIKE the original only better because they feel better and last longer than newsprint. So, if you like the LOOK of old clippings, color copy them.

you can laminate then add them

Thanks for posting this....I have several I want to scrap and would have just scrapped them as is.....I will def. be choosing one of these methods for them instead!

I would scan them in and then print them on acid free paper or cardstock...that's what I do with greeting cards, etc. that I want to use the images from.

i would laminate them

it would preserve them and still get the look of the article

I've scrapped lots of newspaper articles (my dds play lots of sports!) and I've always laminated them and then put them on my LO. So far no problems with them.

I seal mine inside a page protector. cut down if needed, then glue the open edges and when I mount it put either ribbon or a paper strip to cover the glued edge/ the page protectors are obviously scrap safe
