Wedding Album Checklist..

Does anyone have a list of pages to include in a wedding album as well as what order they should go in?

I want to start my wedding album, but not really sure where to start or what to include. I have ALL of the negatives from our wedding, so pictures aren't the problem, just what to do with them. I have some paper already bought and some embelishments, but WHERE DO I START?

Depends, do you want to do Just the ceremony or do you want to do a little background.

You could start with a page about you, and one about your dh, using old pictures
or if you want just the wedding, start with the invitation

Well, I just recently completed one. It included a nice title page, a page for Bride and Groom with lots of room for journaling so they could write about one another, Getting ready, getting to the wedding, the ceremony, the kiss, the special "family joining" they did, the reception took 4 pages, the toast, the happy couple, the bridal party, the cake cutting, dancing, a pocket page with license and cards received, and a closing page of the family all together.


Could print out your vows for a page? Could include your invitation (actually would make a good title page)

WOW! That's a lot of stuff! I just wished I had pictures for all of that. Neither of our families are picture takers, so I am trying really hard to take pictures, not just of our little ones, but of the family at least at holidays:)

I thought of starting our children's albums with pictures of us when we were little and our wedding picture so each child would have their own copies!

I agree about using the invitation as the title page. I've just started my wedding book, and that's what I decided to go with on the title page. The rest of my post is pretty long, sorry in advance!

I have a hint to offer that I'm planning on applying to my book. I've decided on a page element that I'm going to carry thru on either every page, every left page (since most things will be 2 page LOs) or at the start of every section (how we met, engagement, shower, rehearsal dinner, ceremony, etc). I haven't decided how often I'll do it because it will depend on how crowded the pages get with pictures, but anyway, on to my point.

The page element that I'll be using is to take a strip of burgundy card stock and overlay a strip of ivory card stock (those were our colors) on the far outside edge of the page. You'll be able to see a smidge of the burgundy on both sides of the ivory. Then I will put embellishments or stickers onto the ivory strip. This way, i can carry my colors through out the book even on pages where burgundy might not go so well with the pictures.

Other elements you could use might be using the words to your song as a constant border, or using ribbon (especially if you have lots leftover of the pre-printed kind with your names and the date).

Anyway, sorry this was so long. I'm just excited to work on my wedding book and wanted to share something that I thought was a good tip.

I actually made my bridesmaids dresses and have fabric leftover from that as well as some tulle from the table decorations and the iridecent hear confetti from the tables as well!

I may do some more artsy type of photos in black and white of the toasting goblets, cake knife and server and maybe even my shoes, dress or veil. I'll beg my sister, the photographer, to help me out with these new picture additions!

ANyone soon to be married, a little advice:

DON'T FORGET TO JOURNAL YOUR FEELINGS about :
the ceremony,
reception,
and "the moment it hits you that you are Mrs. so and so"

Those feeling will be hard to put into words later, so pack a small notebook along with your camera for the honeymoon. Sneak just a minute or 2 each day and write something even just a word down to help you scrapbook when you get back!

Another hint to any one soon to be married:

If you are putting cameras on each table at the reception, put a little sign with it asking everyone to take pictures of the folks at the table. We had the cameras, but everyone took pics of the same things (garter, cake, bouquet, etc).

Just a tip from someone who learned the hard way....
I'm going to go back through all the "bad" or not so good pics and snip out people who I might not have in "good" pics and make one big collage page of little pics of everyone who was there.

Hey.... I just had an idea (maybe it's been done before - I've only been a member here for a short time, so let me know) but what if someone started a post for wedding advice - not your regular advice, but advice that would help the bride or family member to prepare for the day to make scrapping everything later easier?

If this hasn't been done before, I'll start up the post later this morning. What do you think?

thanks everyone for all the advice. I was married over 4 years ago and can't seem to get started on the book. It's such a special day and I want to make it perfect. Must do it justice ya know! Anyway, thanks again!

I am the same way, We will be married 5 years in sept and I still have not done either of my albums. We had two weddings and I have some really nice photos when I do thm I want them to be perfect! I actually have been thinking of paying some one to do them for me so I am not so nervous about it!

I'm actually working on my wedding album as well, and I did the main subject pages listed above. To tie the album together, I chose the colors from our wedding, and then black and white. Each page has these colors. I am also journaling similarly--something on the lines of a story---Ex/ to get married, there are many steps. Step one, find a significant other (and then I go into how we met, how he proposed) Step two set a date, design invitations ( then I talk about this), step three: find a dress, etc. My title page also has our invitation and then my final page is going to be us leaving the wedding. I also used many left over fabrics and ribbon throughout the album. Hope this helps!

I recently completed my wedding album, it took me 8 months. I was glad I got it done before our 1 yr anniversary- it took forever! I used a uniform color scheme throughout my book too- our wedding color (cornflower blue) with white, black, and silver. It really helped pull the album together. I just finished my wedding album not too long ago- I understand that it is overwhelming! I found sticking to color themes helped soooo much- it made it go so much faster. I used one set of colors for engagement stuff, one set for the shower, one for the pre-wedding/rehearsal stuff, and one for the wedding. That way the sections were different but I wasn't buying different papers for every single page (sticking with the same basic colors also helps keep it less expensive that way). All of my wedding album is in my gallery- hth!

I used my invitation as the title page...it came out beautiful
other than that I did as many pages as I wanted of all the events that were important.
