HELP!!! with removing mounting squares

I really need some help here! I have several photos that I am entering in a contest in Sept. They are to unmounted/unmatted. Now here is the problem.....I took these same 8x10's to another competition were where they were to be mounted on poster board, or some othe type of suitable mounting material. I didn't even think about the fact that some of these photos would be going to another contest. I used mounting squares to secure when I mounted them. I carefully removed the photos after I brought them home. Now they have the mounting squares still stuck to the backs. How can I get them off without ruining the photos? I would get more prints made but I live way in the boonies and most likely won't get them back in time to use in the upcoming contest.

Can anyone offer a solution? I'd sure appreciate it! Thanks! Judy

Try this. It should work.

why do you need to remove the mounting squares? If it's the little tape things you can usually scrape them off

Yes, I would just cut the off - you can cut with an exacto knife.

Maybe I'm not understanding the issue.

Why would the squares stuck to the back would be a problem? I'd just leave them.
