Cleaning Fiskars Cutting Mat

I have an 18 x 24 inch Fiskars cutting mat that I got in J's sewing department to use on my scrapbooking desk. I usually use Goo Gone to clean the sticky stuff and ink off my cutting mats, but I noticed on this particular mat that it also took off the printing on the mat itself. Goo Gone hasn't done this to the other cutting mats I use. I believe the 18x 24 mat is a Fiskars Eco cutting mat. Any ideas on what else I can use to clean the mat? I e-mailed the company but got no response.

No help with the current mess, but in the future I would recommend some type of splat mat--a nonstick, thin material that is easy to wipe off to clean. I keep mine underneath my self-healing mat since it's so thin. that way I can easily have it on hand to use when I need to be messy.

I've used windex on mine with no issues, but I only clean it like that maybe once a year. Otherwise I use baby wipes after messy projects. They also do a decent job of cleaning off stray adhesive, if you scrub at it a bit.

I use my Scor-Pal mat. Cut on one side and glue & paint on the other. It makes a perfect 12 X 12 work area. Put the mat under the Scor-Pal for scoring and inside the Scor-Pal when you are assembling, cutting or decorating your project.

I've swiped it with baby wipes, perhaps I used Un-du for some tough glue spots, but in general I've just said "whatever" and its dirty bc I use it, a LOT!!!... Better the mat than my table!!

I also use baby wipes on my mats and once and while goo gone for a super stick mess as well.

Baby Wipes are great for cricut mats as well just to clean them up and get them sticky again. If you really want to bring that back to life use a mister clean easer and then the re-stick glue on your mat.

I use Un-du, it cleaned the adhesive without hurting the mat. For ink stains, I use a anti-bacterial wipes. I buy the grocery store brand. My Fiskers mat is several years old and still looks pretty good.

I have several Olfa Rotery (self healing) mats that cover my table. I have had them for going on 25 plus years but they are primarily cutting mats not crafting mats. I place paper or a non stick mat (Much like the splat mat) over the Olfa mat when using paint, glue, heat, inks etc. All that mess wipes right off a non stick mat with just about anything, not so much my Olfa mats. Only thing I have done it wipe it down with a little water.

Good to know what cleans the other mats when it comes time to replace the ones I have.
