snapfish or shutterfly?

I was going to try a new way of printing my pics--which one should I use? Does it really matter?

I've tried them all - Snapfish, Shutterfly, Winflash, Kodak, and they are all about equal in quality, in my opinion. As for pricing, you'll want to check out the price of each print plus the S&H and compare which is the better deal.

I signed up for each program because w/ sign-up you get like 50 free prints. I did it just to get the free prints and then after I got them I just stuck w/ what I liked best. I stuck w/ Winkflash for the past few years because of their shipping cost, used to b 99 cents no matter how much you ordered, but they have since changed that so I might go another site. Right now I am re-checking out Snapfish because they have the collage feature - place a photo collage of different pics on a regular size print, for example 4X6 or 5X7 and the price is still the same price it would be for a regular 4X6 or 5X7, except your getting more than 1 pic! I think that is an awesome and cheap way to print out smaller sized pics for scrapping!

You should goggle "online printing" and sign up for all the sites just to get your free prints!! Well, that's what I did...

That's exactly what I was planning on doing!!! Hey, I'll take anything for free you know!!

I just didn't know if there was some big difference I needed to know about.

I love Snapfish. Like the above poster said, I use the collage feature all the time. They also have fast service.

I have used Snapfish and been happy with them.

Another online picture printing company is Clark Color. I have used them for years (first with film and now with digital). I believe they have a .04/print special going on now.

I use Shutterfly and have always been happy with their products. You can get the collage type prints from there too. I like with them that I can also have pictures printed at Target and pick them up if I dont want to wait for them to be shipped.

SHutterfly was having a great sale a few days ago... it might still be on.

And I've ordered from Snapfish too. I have to say IMO that SHutterfly is better. They use Fuji crystal paper-the good stuff.

And I just like their quality all around much better than any other place.

I use Shutterfly. I didn't like that Snapfish made me print out pictures by so and so time or else they were going to close my account.
However, the thing I don't like about them is that their photos aren't true four by sixes and that's even with picking them up at Target.
But I've used them for three years so it doesn't bother me that much!

How off are they?

I use shutterfly too. I think they may be 3.5x5 I haven't actually measured but they are definitely smaller than 4x6!

I only use Snapfish. I love their matte finish, the service is great, and they have great deals all the time. Right now, until July 11th, you can get (50) 4X6 prints for a penny each. (Plus shipping, but that's usually only about $2-$3). The code to enter at checkout is JULY4PENNY. So now would be a good time to try them out.

Clark Color makes you place an order once every 12 months to keep your account active. I don't care for that either. Their CS is great though. There was a print missing in a huge order that I did a while back. They gave me a credit for a free print and for free shipping. If I remember correctly, the free shipping applied to my whole next order, not just 1 print.

stupid question...

whats the difference between gloss and matte? I've been printing at Target for years, but want to be able to do it at home vs standing at the kiosk for hours and hours.

In a nutshell ....Gloss is shiny but tends to easily get fingerprints, also if you are displaying the pics in a frame more likely to show a glare.... Matte is duller but no (or less) fingerprints...

I like snapfish. they have great deals on 4x6s in the summer and occasionally, they will offer a free 8x10! They have good customer service, too. Anytime I've had a problem, I've talked to their online support and they've corrected the problem then and there!

I use Costco they do glossy or matte finish, you can order online to be mailed and shipping is free or one hour pick up at nearest location. Prints are normally .13 for 4x6 right now they got a special for .9 per print. Quility is great. And enlargments are also quite inexpensive.

another happy snapfish customer. I have a daytimer made each yr w/ a picture of my kids on the cover. I also wait until there is a sale for printing. Or if I need it right away, it can be sent to my local Walgreens. I've never had a deadline to print as was mentioned above. If you pay in advance, they cost is a penny less

Use neither! I have mine printed by a place in New York & shipped to me. The shipping and prints (6 cents a print!) are both cheaper than either snapfish or shutterfly. Quality is great too. I've been using them for years. pephoto.com

i have used them both (and a few others) just to get the free "sign up" prints. I LOVE snapfish though. there you can (i know you aren't supposed to do this but) scan an 8x10(they work best) from a professional and you get really good reprints of the photograph (i did this from shutterfly the reprints were a little grainy from there, but snapfish they looked just like i had gotten them from the photographer). Snapfish gets my vote....

Right after this post was made I ordered for the 1st time from snapfish which got me 20 free prints plus I used the 50 prints for a penny each, but with the cost of shipping still came out only about a dollar cheaper but their pictures are on very thin paper. I don't like it at all. Costco's paper quality is awesome.
