DUCT tape

This may seem like a strange question but, is duct tape acid free? i have a few great layouts with my kids and duct tape and thought about using it for frames or mats or tags...but if it isn't acid free i don't want it near the photos.

If I had to guess, I would say no.

that is what i was thinking. if it isn't...does anyone have any ideas to use it on a layout? especially in a way that it is archivally safe. i don't want it to mess up my pics years from now.

What about scanning some duct tape if you have a scanner, and then printing that & using it?

I wouldn't use duct tape on a layout. It looks like the adhesive would get nasty on the page.

I would stay away from duct tape. the adhesive will most likely turn into gooey, staining mess. But they do make "duct tape" stickers...

Duct tape is not acid free and is highly toxic. A neighbor boy put a wad of it in his mouth (why? only in the mind of a boy would we know) and had to be rushed to the ER because of the chemicals in the adhesive caused respitory problems and he was throwing up violently.
That being said, I would assume it would do a number on your pages.

I've seen duct tape paper also..I think at M's? OR ACM... not sure which

Duck tape (beofre anyone says corrects me, it was duck before it was duct) is used to remove warts. The acid in the tape burns off the wart over a week or so time.

That fact alone would be enough to tell me to keep it out of my album.

And to think, I laughed at my Dad when he used it on a wart on his thumb- I thought it was just some strange redneck remedy of his!

I would simply scan a strip of it (glue it onto a piece of paper first - not directly onto your scanner glass) then crop and save it in a format that allows you to print off the image.

lol never knew that about warts. i think scanning is the best bet. someone mentioned that they have stickers that look like duct tape so i am keeping my eyes open for those too.
