CM refill pages VS Walmart brand Memories Forever

Hi everyone! Just a little heads up for all of you that didn't know.
I bought a CM 12x12 album with extra refill pages. Soon after I went to Walmart, and I seen Memories Forever brand hinged pages. Of course I had to check them out. I got home, opened the package and started compairing. Low and behold the cheaper ones were almost Identical! Same quality and design, for much cheaper!
So keep that in mind next time when in need of refill pages

I am glad for the info, but kinda scared to mess with the cm quality. I am not a true CM loyalist or anything, but I love my album I got it as a gift, so I will probably never be able to afford another one!

First of all I am not a CM consultant and not loyal to using only CM. I do however think that their scrapbook pages are better than the Westrim, Memories Forever brand. I can only base this on my own experience and I am not bashing the company. Once about 3 or 4 years ago, when my 4yo dd wanted to scrapbook with me I bought the Memories Forever brand rather than the CM for her...because the price is significantly less. Well at the time there didn't seem to be much quality difference. Now, three years later the stapeles that hold the pages into the strap hinge albums are all rusty on the Memories Forever brand. I have been using CM for over 7 years and have never had that problem. Both albums were stored on the same book shelf and cared for in a similar fashion. We do live in humid Texas, but the books never got wet. I don't know if Memories Forever has fixed this quality problem or not, but I won't use them again. We would have to redo all of her work if we replaced the pages, and I could never recreate her precious handwriting so I just let them sit there and get rustier. The rust has not spread to the pages themselves...just on the hinge part of the staples. I hope no one takes offence at this post, I am just passing on a warning based on my own experience.

Thanks for the info! Atleats I know that my CM album has a warranty on it. I think I'll stick with my CM albums and pages. Thanks again for the info!

scraprocket, you should see about stopping by Lowe's or Home Depot to see about getting a spray to combat the rust....

I think michaels my have a product for rust removal, then maybe you could use some type of sealer on them. CM uses stainless steel so that is why they dont do that.

I agree that Creative Memories has far better quality.

Hey scraprocket, instead of trying to redo your DD pages you could take the pages out and cut the jeeping off of the page, which would get rid of the staples and put them in a Creative Memories Portrait Sleeve. That way you will never have to worry about the rust getting to the page.
