Card interiors and old greeting cards

Just spent some time in the card gallery and was wanting to see some card interiors. There weren't very many in the gallery so thought maybe it might be easier to post here and ask for some links.

Also, has anyone recycled portions of manufactured greeting cards and used them in making their own cards? I've tons of cards saved from years gone by and thought it might be a good way to use them rather than hoard them. Any thoughts?

I always do something more than just stamp a sentiment inside, but I don't bother to take a picture of it (except once). I line the right side of the inside with pp or dark cs, then add a border-punched strip at the bottom. I cut either a smaller size rectangle or a large-sized Nestabilities shape out of white or cream to layer on top, then stamp the sentiment on that. So there's the card base with a couple layers on the outside and a couple layers on the inside, too. Before I started doing that the cards felt so flimsy, and they'd never stand up.

I've saved a few cards over the years to cannibalize, but the card on the left is the only one I've made so far from a storebought greeting card. I've used them to make gift tags sometimes.

What I do for card interiors is take old tags and journal spots that I don't like anymore and put them in. I put a quote or a saying or whatever in it and consider it done!

I never do anything super fancy but here are a few that I actually posted of the insides:

I don't know if this applies to what you are asking: I buy cards and repurpose them. I use them as the base (even if the cards were for a baby shower for example and I'm making a birthday card) and adhere my own stuff on the front and inside and they come with the exact size envelopes. I select the cards I like for their patterns, colkors or whatever and, I add embellishments, ribbon, paper to it (covering anything with words if it doesn't apply). I buy packs of 8 or 10 cards at a garage sales, Big Lots, Tuesday morning or the Dollar store.

I also bought a few packs of Mary Engelbreit birthday invites at Michaels that were $1 a pack. They were all glittery and cute. I cut the front picture of the cupcakes, etc and adhere it to my own birthday cards.

Sometimes I do the interior of a card instead of the exterior. I think it's a great surprise to get a very simple card on the outside and then open it to something fabulous.

Obviously as a fan of pop-ups, using the inside is required a lot of the time.

I don't like to have both the exterior and interior fully decorated, I want one to stand out and the other to be simple, I think it's a nice balance.
