The Traveling Scrapbooker

HELP! I travel a lot for my job, many times with overnight stays. TV gets boring and I would love to be able to scrapbook. Does anyone have any ideas on how to "scrapbook on the road?" IE, space saving, essential items, storage ideas.

With the travel restrictions, there's no way I can bring a Crop N Style bag!

I would suggest doing lots of prep type things like paper piecings or stencil cuttings. That way you could leave with all your cardstock traced, and all you would need to bring with you is scissors, adhesive, a fine tip pen, and chalks. This is the stuff that is time consuming, but doesn't require a ton of equipment or supplies, and the things we sometimes don't find time for at a scrap session, so we don't use often enough. You could take these few things in a lg. ziploc, and bring home finished projects in the same bag but tucked in a book to keep from creasing. Hope this gives you some ideas. Nancy

Couple of ideas:

1. Alot of people I know do a power layout before they go on vacation and put it in an album box so they can sit in the hotel room and have their pictures already paired with their pages, stickers, die cuts and what-not. Then, they just need adhesive and they can put the pages togther and journal when they get home.

2. Or, you can put the pages together at home and leave the journaling for when you travel. Then you just need your pages and your markers!

I often take a stack of pictures with me and a pencil to write names and dates on the backs. I also start grouping them together to decide which will be scrapbooked and which won't. Once I've decided, then I start working on my journaling.
