Cleaning Your Cricut Mats

I keep on getting new mats for my cricut, but I thought that there has to be a way to clean them and keep using the same one. So what do you use to clean your cricut mats?? What do you do when the lose their stickiness??

Did you try Cricut Chat ?

I've heard that a lot of Cricut owners resticky their mats with the Aleen's repositional glue or any spray repositional adhesive. My gf uses quilter's basting spray because she quilts as well so has that always on hand.

No I haven't tried Criuct Chat. I didn't know it was there. I haven't been able to spend anytime online.

I use warm water and soap to clean it, also a lint roller and once in a while I use spray adhesive.. Works great! I have had my cricut going on 2 years and only replaced the mat 1 time~

I've also just washed mine in the sink with warm water and let it dry, and that's helped.

I wash mine with warm soapy water, let it dry and then use the large tip Zig 2 Way Glue. Then let is dry and it is tacky enough to use. If you use it while the glue is still blue, it is a permanent bond, clear is a temporary bond which works best for the cricut mats.

I use window cleaner (Cinch) and an old cloth napkin (no lint) and I now can use the same mat for 4 or 5 months and I use my Cricut a lot.

I wash my mats with soap and water, if they are really bad I use goo gone and resticky with elmers adhesive spray good as new. I have been on the same set for well over a year now.

I have washed mine with dish liquid and warm water, hung to dry and so far I haven't had to resticky.

I just used a make up wipe from Costco on one of mine and was shocked how much it helped. I hear baby wipes work too...

I don't think I'm going to try the re sticky methods... sounds like a possiblity of too much mess to me. I'll use a JoAnn's coupon and buy new ones once in awhile. But that's just me.

I just used a baby wipe..The cheap kind from walmart..and lightly wiped it down and then waved the mat in the air and viola! sticky again! But I will let you know in advance...the wipes smell like beer...so weird!
