Which staples to use for scrapbook?

I just want to know which staples are good for scrapbook? Can I use general staples or buy special staples? I am not sure if staples may get rust over time? Anyone knows?

I just use regular staples, but i've never really considered the rust issue before. Yikes.

I too just use regular staples. Don't know if there is any difference. Hope not!!

I use the Making Memories staples. They are pretty inexpensive, dont rust and a box lasts forever.

They have mini staples too, but I use the regular sized ones. I also use a regular stapler from Walmart

I use staples and so far no rust, now I am sure if my sb got damp they might, but I have some that are 10 y.o. with NO rust.

I am not sure who it was, but someone on here had posted a topic about this not too long ago and her paper got damaged because of the staples rusting. I will go see if I can find the post.

I can't seem to find it. Sorry! I would think that as long as they are coated that they would be ok.

good quality staples are made of aluminum or stainless steel. Neither of these will rust. I understand that there are some that are made in China that have a metal that might rust. Just by swingline staples and I know they won't rust.

Some staples do rust!

I have recently been destroying old office files (most 10-20 years old). I noticed some staples have some rust around them, while others don't.
I couldn't tell you what the difference is (we just buy the regular "cheap" staples for our office).

These are files that have been stored IN OUR OFFICE --- not in any unheated, damp storage unit.

Just something to think about.

Thank for info.. yeah good idea to use rustless staples... I'll check them out in store... didn't see that Making Memories staples- curious.

I saw MM staples at AC Moores when I was there this weekend, they even had them in colors
