Anyone in Salt Lake City?

We will be in Salt Lake City for the weekend of March 24th - 25th. Bill has a bit of work to do there and his brother and other family members may meet him there to help.

He will be working Thurdsay and Friday so if anyone has time for lunch - let me know. Or shopping.

Also, would love to know good scrappy places in Salt Lake City.

From there we drive to Las Vegas and go through Provo and those areas. Any good scrapbook stores that way?

I don't know if I have time for a meet-up (although I'd *love* to meet you!), but I'll be happy to be a virtual tour guide!

Stampin' Up! will give tours (I can't remember the address, but if you're interested, I'll find it for you).

Mom and Me Scrapbooking is located at 2199 East 3300 South.

Roberts Crafts is at 1172 E Brickyard Rd (about 3150 S). There's also another in Orem (Provo area) that might be bigger but I haven't been to it.

and there is an Archivers in University Mall - 575 E. University Pkwy. Ste J-172 (North wing).

We go every year because my husband picks up a large load of license plates so he's really familiar with the grid system. I don't drive when we are away from home so I just go along for the ride so I'm oblivious to the directions anywhere.

To be honest, in Ocala I know how to find my real estate office and the scrapbook stores. That's honestly about it!

I've heard wonderful things about "Pebbles in my Pocket" and we were going to go there last time and missed the exit. My husband is wonderful about taking me places but when he misses an exit, he keeps on going and says, "We will go to the next one." He doen't go back.

I will probably have a day when they are all going through plates and working and I'm just sitting in the hotel room. Usually works out that way but I won't know until we get there as to how much work there is to do.

They all like to eat at the Carriage House. There are also a few other restaurants we like there.

I love to roam around the temple too and take pictures, although not being Mormon I can't go inside. I can imagine it is fabulous though!

I'm normally a lurker on these boards, but I'm also a long-time SLC resident, so I figured I'd give you my insights...

Unfortunately, the Roberts stores went out of business in January of this year, so that's no longer an option.

Sadly, although Utah is a mecca for scrapbook companies, there are few LSSs still open here. The two that I'm familiar with are in the Bountiful area (about 5 miles north of SLC). Scrapbook Clearance Outlet (544 W 750 So. # C
Woods Cross, UT) and Heartland Paper (616 W. 2600 So.
Bountiful, UT 84010). If you have to pick just one, Heartland Paper is definitely my favorite.

On the other hand, the plus side to having lots of scrapbook companies is that you can get fabulous deals at warehouse sales, as well as at the Scrapbook Expo. Luckily for you, the scrapbook expo is being held the weekend of March 23-24 (in Sandy, Utah - just a few minutes south of downtown SLC), so that's another option.

Had no idea there an expo was scheduled that weekend! It would give me something to do while he is going through license plates! We may be meeting up with a lot of family to help with the license plates but I still have the freedom to do my own thing while he is working so I can still go.

I remember that Salt Lake City had a lot of buses and public transportation.

Thank you for the compliment on my layouts. THey aren't very detailed or artistically beautiful but they tell the story I'm trying to tell and I guess that's what I"m trying to accomplish!

The Stampin Up HQ building is in Riverton on 3800 West between 12600 So and 13400 So. It is in a very residential area, so it's hard to miss if you're driving down the road. I live not too far from there and drive past it frequently.

Kristen, tell me more about warehouse sales?! I've been living off my stash that I got when All My Memories in Draper went out of business. I occasionally go to Ms or HL to pick up supplies if I need anything specific, but not often.

There use to be an awesome shop on Redwood Road and a little further south than 5600 in Murray.

That was a shop I always made an effort to go to. Hope you have alot of fun.
