alternatives to scrapping on posterboard? Help!

I need to make a display for my Grandparents 50th Anniversary *surprise* party this Saturday! Oringally I figured I'd just buy a posterboard and cover it with paper and scrap that....but thats just seeming really lame to me right now. :/ So then I thought of those cardboard cubes, but I don't think that'd work very well, b/c I want all the pictures to be showing without having to turn over all these cubes. I have a couple scrapbooking on the walls books, but most of the ideas in there were too expensive/labor intensive for a one-time showing. (I know it won't get saved after this b/c the colors dont match my Grandma's house, LOL) :P

Anyone have a more creative idea???? Thanks!!

go with the 12x12 size and just have mulitlpe paegs up (assuming you have a wall to post on) and group them in say 4x4 groups. kind of like hanging up photo frames.
at dh uncles funneral they had photo frames up and around for people to look at as well as albums open...thought it was nice

If you go to Michaels or I think I have even seen them at WalMart....they make these display boards out of cardboard and posterboard that kids use for science displays....they are sort tri fold and they stand on their own......you just decorate the front. I think they are under $7

I've seen those display boards too! They would be perfect for something like that!

I used one of those display boards for my wedding. I papered it and then put as many pictures of us I could find.

Im doing the same thing for my sisters graduation

Yeah, I was thinink about those display boards also or the really big 18x18 cardstock sheets that Martha Stewart came out with. I've really been wanting to get a couple of those to do some really big LOs and then frame them:)

I'm in the same boat, looking for something for my friend's anniversary party.

Here are the ideas I have so far

- A pyramid of 12x12 boxes, covered in Scapbook pages
- Covering those round cardboard tubes that are designed for concrete, covered in scrapbook pages

Large foam core board would work also..
