Provo Craft hand punches

I bought three of these Provo Craft hand punches at Michaels. I bought a star, a heart, and a flower. The shapes are approx 1/4 in. across. They are JUNK!!! The heart one I returned after three days because it would not work, it just dented and wrecked my paper . Just a few minutes ago, the flower punch decided to die. The metal part that punches through the paper came completely out!!! I tried to put it back into the hole, but it is not aligned now. It's not that I don't know how to use them. I have a bunch of EK Success ones and those I love. Now I guess I will just have to wait for the star one to die .

Are these the hand held punches that look like some kind of pliers, and have the bright colored handles? If they are, I agree, they are terrible. None of the 6 pairs I have work right, the mini flower never did, but I bought it so far from home it wasn't worth the trip back to complain. They are now about 3 yrs. old, and the part that actually punches through the paper is so rusty it leaves dirt on the page. None of my other punches, including a general office supply hole punch have ever rusted. I hate these things! Nancy

Yes, that is exactly the kind I am talking about. I am so glad it is not just me being dumb with them. I always worry about that when something screws up!

I have had the same horrible experience with these hand held punches. PLEASE....DO NOT BUY THESE!!! Mine came from Michael's, I do not know who else may carry them. Yes, I must agree, THEY ARE JUNK...DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY!
My dear husband bought several of them for me for Christmas. He put them in my stocking. I was so excited...he actually bought me scrappin' supplies! He was so proud. We were both very disappointed when I tried to use them. All they do is rip your paper. I got ZERO use out of them. My husband can't find the receipt...so I am stuck with them!

I would try taking them back anyway. Most places will take back merchandise that is obviously defective. Just take a scrap of cardstock and demonstrate to them. It doesn't hurt to try, and it would be a good customer service move on their part.

TAKE THEM BACK. ..IF YOU HAVE A LICENSE, THEY WILL GIVE YOU IN STORE CREDIT. I SUGGEST BUYING THE HANDHELD FISKARS ONES.THEY ARE WONDERFUL. I HAVE ALL OF THEM AN HAVE NEVER HAD A PROBLEM. THEY WILL GIVE YOU CREDIT IF THEY DON'T WORK...TRUST ME. GOOD LUCK AND LET US KNOW WHAT HAPPENS.
