Best white ink for dark cardstock?

What is the best white ink for stamping on dark cardstock? I have seen the Stazon and the Brilliance Archival inks at M's. Are either of these any good?

Would love to know this too as I have tried several that haven't worked. I always end up heat embossing the white.

I've used the Brilliance Archival inks before and it works well. You have to let it dry though and it can take a while (that's the only down side to it). I haven't tried any others.

I forgot to mention...I used the Brilliance Archival ink on vellum and it worked well! That took quite some time to dry though but it looked great! Watch out...it smudges easily.

Oh thanks for clarifying it was on vellum otherwise I wanted to know your secret! I have had no luck with Brillance or staz on.
I always have to go over it with the white uniball pen!

I was wondering about chalks....does any one have experience with those??

I used the el cheapo studio G white chalk ink on some Halloween tags. The background was a heavily coffee stained manilla tag stamped with a black image. Then I stamped on the dark ink with the chalk ink. I was satisfied with the coverage.

Ohhhh..I''m gonna try that! I have the StazOn and even though I love, love, love my StazOn inkpads, I'm not liking the white at all. I usually just use white embossing powder on dark cs.

I don't like the white Stazon at all! Although, I love all their other colors!

I have a white ink from Close To My Heart that seems to do pretty good. I can't remember the exact color. It does take a little time to dry. I have also used paint and a foam sponge to stamp on darker cardstock. I used the bottle you can get at Walmart and used the foam sponge (those black ones with the wooden handle...the name is escaping me at the moment) to brush the paint on. I haven't used this with intricate stamps or anything, but I did do it with some letters once and it turned out really cute!

I'm a fan of the Studio G inks as well. Even though they are what everyone would consider "cheap" I find they work better than all the other white inks I've tried. I did a blog post about them to show how well they work and have some pictures if anyone wants to see how the ink looks on dark cardstock. Guess it's just proof that you don't have to break the bank to find some really good product out there. I'm thinking of scooping up several more of the studio G white ink blocks while JoAnn's still has them. Your cards are beautiful!

I picked up a ton the other day (my first inks), just dying to try them and nice to hear that even though they are cheap doesn't mena they suck!!! LOL

LOL So true! I've also found that with those bargain clear stamps in the dollar bins, it helps to pounce them pretty well on the ink pad. I've never had any issue with them stamping clearly, except when I've sort of slid them over the ink pad instead of pouncing them.

LOLOLOL You know what I mean...just tapping the stamp on the block rather than sliding it. I can just ink up my wood mount rubber stamps any ole kinda way, but the clear ones...not so much.

What is nice about the Studio G inks is that the ink actually dries too! I've tried a couple different white craft inks and they still smeared after drying for a day. I tested the Studio G inks after about 5 minutes (ran my finger over the stamped image pretty hard) and it didn't smear. I haven't found a black Studio G ink yet, but when I do, I'll be buying a few cubes of that too. I have just about all the colours and they works so well with clear stamps I don't even pull out my catseye inks anymore.
