HELP ME! I need to choose a die cut machine!

Needing help here. I'm a scrapper trying to get back into it. I'm in the process of setting up my personal space... WOULD LOVE IDEAS on organization.(does anyone have photos of their space???) AND my new dilemma is the die cut machines. I'm leaning towards the sidekick because I have two of the alphabet sizzlits... but now I hear of a new product called Cricut (an electronic die cutter) or another one I can't think of that needs a computer. I'm also looking at the big shot... HELP! What do you recommend and why???

I have a sizzix and love it! I also use the QuicKutz dies in it. Their is the big shot from provo craft,, you might want to consider that one as well. hth!

You can cut any font or shape (with a bit of help from software).

No more buying dies for me.

I also use the Sidekick and have the Sizzix die cut machine. I also use the QuicKutz . I love both of these. Not sure I want anything else. Good luck!

Does it cut "any" font???? Any size?????? Do you like having to use your computer? I've heard the Cricut doesn't need a computer and does the same...

With Cricut you have to use their cartridges, I think, with Wishblade any TTF (true type font) on your computer. I love mine!! I'm titling things so much more now with it. Plus there's tons of free files that you can use on the Wishblade.

Lots of people sell their old Sizzix or Quickuts stuff, but I plan on keeping and adding to them. They can cut stuff (like fabric) that Wishblade can't.

I just bought the Accucut Zip'e mate today. I had such buyers delima. I didn't know what to get. I was dead set on getting a Sizzix because that's what I hear everyone talk about..but once the lady demonstrated it I knew I couldn't handle having to do 2-3 presses just to do one die. So, I got the Zip e'mate and all I have to do is turn a crank and the dies go through with ease. Also, I can use a variety of dies on it..not just one made from Acccut.

i just got a sidekick. I like it cuz it is light and small plus there isnt too much choices...if id gotten something else then id spend WAY too much on die cuts. lol

im waiting patiently sort of, for another batch ordered from sizzix. first order was sent out quickly...this one has been 5 days and it hasnt been sent out yet...grrr

Another thing with Sizzix, and this is just what I have been hearing lately, not my personal experience, is the time it takes.

I spend my money and use it like a report card. Those who perform well with it get more from me and those who don't (or who I hear about) won't get any more.

I started seeing, a while ago in fact, and it has bugged me and I did not make as many layouts is...all the titles on my layouts started looking the same. Lollipop font when I am journaling about my grandmother, who is dead, just does not fit, KWIM?

That has been a HUGE reason why I wanted the wishblade. I still have my sizzix, you know us scrappers, we have a VERY HARD TIME parting with our tools! But I wanted versatility that was not dictated by the one or two fonts I have on my shelf.

Some people will love this tool and others will love that one, it is each individuals taste and what they like playing with! Here's to individuality!

Before getting anything from sizzix i heard a few ladies saying it took awhile...but the sale was good so i got a few things. That was quick but this time is slower...

I would reccomend QuicKutz as all of their products come with a warranty. Also they have EXCELLENT customer service and will replace or repair anything for you with little hassle.

I've heard A LOT about the new die cutting systems that are coming out (i.e. cricut, xyron personal cutter, and the wishblade) so far people like these but they've all said to me (as i work in my lss) that they're kind of a hassle because they require so much prep work. For all of the newer machines is required that you trim your paper down to a size before you can actually cut the shape out.

QuicKutz is the only die cutting system on the market in which you don't have to trim your paper down to size and it still remains the most portable. This may be something to think about if you attend crops on a regular basis.

I'm a QuicKutz girl too.... but like the ease of my Sizzix too! The Sizzix fonts are getting very cute!

I'm eyeing the wishblade...I want it, and dh said I could order it...I just have to get up the courage to click the order button lol

I have both the Sidekick and the QK and I have the big Sizzix machine for the big dies. I like the sidekick and the sizzix. I would love to have the wishblade but unfortunately I have to pay bills and eat for the next year so I can't afford it.

I have a Sizzix, Sidekick and Wizard. I find that I constantly use the Sizzix and Sidekick, and rarely use the Wizard - guess old habits are hard to break. Wish now that I had not invested in the Wizard, although I know that many scrappers just love it.
