Fusible Webbing

Anyone ever use fusible webbing to adhere fabric to cardstock?

I'm trying to adhere loosely woven canvas type material to 36 6x6 pages. I've tried the Xyron but it's too expensive and it pulls the fabric out of shape. I've tried double stick tape and it's not strong enough. I just bought some fusible webbing as a last resort.

Anyone ever use it??? Any tips?

I've never used it for that, but it makes really cool spider webs for halloween pages... Let us know if it works..

i have never used it that way either... i ve used it also for spider webs..

you can iron it onto the fabric, but i wouldn't suggest ironing it on to the cardstock. as it melts, it might warp your paper. after you get it on the fabric, it might be hard enough to glue with regular adhesive. i've made gift boxes and covered them with fabric. i used spray glue from 3m (think i got it from home depot). just be sure to spray it on the cardboard and not on the fabric because the fabric might stick to itself and then you'll have a big sticky fabric ball you have to throw away after spraying on the cardstock, be very carful and place the fabric on starting in one direction and rubbing all the bubbles out with a popsticle stick. then trim the extra fabric after you're done.

I have only stitched mine. Very time consuming for 36 pages...if I think of anything I will let you know.

Hi Sonya....I have used fusible web to join fabric to cardstock and it came out fine.....just DON'T use a really hot iron. You may want to lay a thin clean cloth on top of the fabric you are ironing on.

I've use Wonder Under Fusible Web - ironed onto the fabric then onto the cardstock - it doesn't warp the cardstock - BUT after a few days it peels off, doesn't adhere to the cardstock permanently - arghhhh.........so I wouldn't waste your time or money trying it - I tried several different ways but it just didn't work!

I finally just used a thin coat of Scrappy Glue and a Pampered Chef squiggy thingy - you know that little brown thing and pressed the fabric down with that, worked great.

I went and asked my neighbor what she does (lucky to have a friend 2 doors down that scraps) and she said all she does is use the ZIG 2 way glue or a glue stick and she doesn't have any problems. Like I said...that is my neighbor I stitch mine on..but maybe I will have to try the glue.

i've used the spray adhesive for large blocks of fabric, there are low temp webbing out there that would probably work, if you use the spray adhesive be sure and not get it on your work space or floor, it is the devil to remove
