Adhering pressed flowers???

I saved some of the flowers from my wedding and trying now to finish the flowers page. How can I get the pressed flower to the page. It is a rose and it is not completely flat.

I personally haven't done this (this is my disclaimer!) but you might want to spray the flower with a sealant first. It could become very crumbly. The other thing you could do is carefully take the rose apart, spray it and then lay the petals out on your LO loosely or in the pattern of a rose if that makes any sense. Love to see it when you are done!

This sounds like a great idea..wish I had saved a few to put in my scrapbook. I had my bouquet pressed at a flower shop and put in a frame, but this would have been a neat alternative...I am working on my wedding still...soon to be a year on 6/2. Congrats to you, too. look forward to seeing the responses on how to use these.

I would put them in a shaker box type of thing, or maybe a vellum envelope to protect the flower AND your lo. Real flowers tend to be acidic and could destroy your layout -- so, I'd opt for some kind of 'buffer' between the layout and the flower rather than adhering directly to the page. At the very least spray them with an 'acid free' type of product.

The only way I would adhere the real flower to a layout is after it was put in a glycerin/water mix which allows it to become flexible, etc. However, this is something you do to leaves and flowers when they are still alive, not after they've been dried out.

Personally, I wouldn't do it with so large a flower that isn't flat. I've made LOs and cards with pressed flowes, but they were totally flat. I used mod podge and had awesome results.

However with a rose, it will likely become crumbly and fall to pieces if it's in a scrapbook, bumping against pages, etc.

Perhaps you could get a shadowbox frame and make a LO to display in the frame instead of putting it in a book.

So...I finally got the page done. I sprayed the roses with clear sealant and then glued them down with Craft Bond. They seem to be sticking and they also have the protective cover on them too. I am happy with the result. Here is the link...
