How do you journal on black paper?

I am doing a LO where I want to journal directly onto the black paper with a white pen. Is that a bad idea?

How do you put the lines down...with a pencil? I do not think my pink disapearing ink will show up well, but what about the paper getting lighter form erasing the pencil?

I am a CM consultant- and so I can only speak for CM products.. but we have a pencil that writes in white, but is erasable. As for your journaling, I would use our Metallic Fine-Tip pens.. which are like gel pens. I think they will look better on your black page than a white pen.

I am a CMC too. CM has a great new product called the journaltopia. It is like a ruler, but it has these loopy things made out of a fishing line type stuff across the top. You write along the top and it keeps your journaling straight. That way, you don't have to draw lines on your paper. I love the silver metallic pens on black. It looks sooooo cool. Good luck.

I have journaled on black with a white gel pen and it worked fine. Do you have a light box? I have never tried black, but I have a template (a piece of notebook paper where I've taken a ruler and black marker and blackened the lines) that I put down first, then the lo paper on top. When you turn on the light, you can see the lines through the lo paper. Like I said, I haven't tried it with black. If you try it and it works, let us know.

I suspect the lightbox idea won't work with black CS, but it may with regular weight PP. I LOVE the look of white ink on black - it's classic and it pops. But not all white pens are created equal. I tried 4 different brands and the one I like best for SMOOTH ink flow is a UniBall Signo - I bought it at Michael's. Silver metallic has it's place but has to work with the rest of the LO - as does any color you choose.

I haven't drawn lines but was going to suggest trying a straight edge (even another sheet of paper) to help guide your lines. The fishing line thing sounds pretty neat too. Best wishes on this. Be sure to test the pen you want to use on black scrap first. I tried some metallic pens on black - blue, purple, etc. when I first began SBing, and they really did not show up clearly enough to be legible.

Galaxy makes some pens/markers for writing on dark papers too. they even make a black ink to write on black paper. somehow it shows up. I got mine at my LSS, they work great for writing on slick surfaces too.

My CM metallic pens work very well on black cardstock. I have penciled in lines before and erased, and it turned out fine. I think if you have a good quality cardstock it won't lighten the black, but it might not work on Bazzil because of the texture.

I love the way white gel pen looks on black or dark card stock - really beautiful. I have used a ruler and very light pencil lines and then after the pen has fully dried I could erase the pencil. I think it comes out great.

Where can I get a journaltopia? It sounds like it would be really useful for all types of projects! I'm new here, so I'm sorry for such a stupid question, but what is CM? Is there a website, or do you order it through individual consultants?
