? about Hot Glue

Everyone swears by there hot glue gun. Well after the glue cools - you can peel it off like each surface.

I need to find something heavy duty to use, but not able to be peeled apart & such ... what can I use

I hear E6000 glue is fantastic. It's not acid free though.

If you're looking for acid free that has great sticking power, try an ATG gun.

My go to liquid glues are Beacon Adhesives Fabri-Tac, 3-in-1 and Zip Dry - fantastic and they don't warp your paper.

Not everyone swears by their hot glue gun. Hot glue guns drive me nutty! My go-to adhesives for heavy duty use are Glossy Accents and my ATG.

I use alot of glossy accents - I dont care about the acid free, I need it mostly for altered items. Not pages or pictures ..

I use Zip Dry before I dont remeber it holding well? I'll have to try that 6000 stuff, Ive heard alot about it --- I heard is smell's?

Kinda sad about the glur gun. I got a really fancy one thats cordless & all these bells & whistles. I dont like the hold after it drys just for some objects on diffrent surface's.

What do y'all choose to adhere laces, buttons ribbon ect?

I find the ATG pretty great for adhering ribbon, and I like Glue Dots for buttons.

I have a hot glue gun when I did art projects for my colleges classes. One day I was looking through them and it come off too. I might have to give Glossy Accents a try see if it works. I have a ATG haven't use it yet. But will use it when I really need it. I use my two way glue now or permenant acid free photo safe avery glue stick. I have a pack of them. But have to say I'm sit with much of different glues for different projects.

The E6000 is great to glue for example, metal to metal, or something that is heavy. It does smell like airplane glue. Normally I'm only using a little bit so the smell is not overwhelming. I have a metal box that was my grandmother's that I am thinking about an altered project with and I will use that some.

For ribbon, I use Glue Dots or ATG. ATG is good if you want to just run a flat strip of ribbon. These are best for ribbon because they are not wet and won't bleed through. Dots work best for lace because it's easy to hide.

I just realized I have six glue products in my arsenal. Spray glue, Tacky Spray, ATG, glue pen, glue dots, & E6000. All have been recommended by folks here in this forum! And of course I have a hot glue gun so that makes seven.

For lace, I use a thin strip of Glossy Accents. For ribbon, I use my Xyron X, and for buttons I use glue dots. If I'm using buttons on something that will stand upright or hang on a wall, then it's the Glossy Accents.

I have a canvas wall hanging that I created. I used Glossy Accents and 3L tape (I think ATG tape would work just as well these days). That was several years ago, and everything (buttons, charms, embellies, paper) is still as solid as a rock.

Glossy Accents, my ATG, and glue dots are my go to adhesives.
