Cuttlebug Replacement Plates

  • Dianeaslm
Been away for years and just getting back to paper crafting & scrapbooking. I had 2 broken "B" plates for my Cuttlebug machine so I got those off the internet. Now I can't find my "A" plate and "C" plate! unamused emoji All I can find of the "A" plate is through ebay for original plate ($40 and up). Other generic ones don't seem to have good reviews as far as being right thickness. Possibly new machine? Sizzix thick dies through Spellbinders etched dies. pray emoji

    Hi Diane
I have one of the very original green cuttlebugs and left it hidden for too long. So I pulled it out and began to use it as I was intrigued by all the lovely dies I'd been purchasing.
It works wonderfully with the embossing folders but not so much with the metal dies.
I gave up and bought the Sizzix Big Shot. I love it! The dies go through like butter.
    Hope that helps!

Thanks for your input Maria. I was trying to find replacement plates A and C for my Cuttlebug. I can get the C plates fairly cheap but the A plates I can only find on ebay. They A & C plates sell for $45.00 and up! By the time I buy 2 plates it's over $90.00 plus shipping so I guess I might as well just get a new machine! Just kind of fries me that they quit making the replacement plates and by reading reviews on generic plates it seems they are not the same thickness.
I've been looking at Big Shot and Spellbinders Platinum 6.
I have a Cricut but I have dies that I am dying to use for my daughter's wedding album. She got married 2-1/2 yrs ago but I have just about everything I need for her album.
I appreciate your response. Thanks so much! If you're not going to be using your Cuttlebug and plates you might want to sell them on ebay. They are getting really good prices for even the used plates.

Stampin' Up! Cut and emboss plates work in the cuttlebug. And much cheaper!
