Dollar Store Adhesives?

Has anyone tried the adhesives they sell at the dollar store? They have the runners in dots,squares, etc. I have have been tempted to use them but I don't know if they are going to last at the long run. I mean I don't want things falling apart a couple of months from now.

I have never used their adhesives.... I don't think I will. I like the stamps, stickers and such but when it comes to the glue...... stick to the well know.

I don't live in the US but I use adhesives from the dollar stores here and find they are just as good as any other brand.

I use them all the time and I haven't had any problems with them. In fact when I go there I buys a ton of them.

yea the only adhesive i have is a roll thingy from dollar tree and Ive used it on a layout and a BUNCH of cards and "so far" no problems and I dont even think I'm half way through the thing.

I always buy my adhesive squares there and don't see any difference in quality. I stockup when I go there because I'm always afraid they'll stop selling them. You can't beat $1 per box!

I've used the Dollar Store adhesive squares for a ton of my layouts. They clearanced them out though (but I wiped them out...$.50/box!) I started buying Fiskars adhesive squares at Walmart and that is what I'm using now. I ended up giving some of my Dollar Store squares to my Mom because she was just starting out and didn't have many supplies. They were very good quality though and I would still be using them if my Dollar Store still carried them.

I use the square adhesives and circle adhesives from the dollar store and they seem to work really well:)

I use the squares from Dollar Gen all the time and never have had any problems.

my fave adhesive runner is the pink tab runner from the dollar tree, it is removable to start but then turns permanent after about 3 min, it works just as well as any other and if I'm looking for a "permanent right now" adhesive, I like the little squares from Dollar General

I used there foam squares, and I do NOT recommend them AT ALL. They fall off the sheet they're adhered to and then don't stick on my LO/card/etc.

Never again. I'll spend the money.

Don't waist your money. They stick well at first, but in a few days they come apart. Your better off to spend the money on the good stuff.

I bought a few of the double sided sticky tape runners and they worked well, hubby told me to go back and get all they have, so I did! I forgot to tell him they had about 50 rolls. yep I got all of them! will not have to buy any for years and years!
I have not had any problems with them. I did make sure I got the PERMANET adhesive ones, and not the repositionalbe tapes.

I loved those adhesive runners as well. They worked really well and am disappointed to find out they no longer carry them. I wish I had stocked up on them. Can't beat the price, but after reading the dollar gen carried some, I might hit that store up next and see if I get lucky.

i bought some and it seemed to work ok at first but it loses it sticky over time and my pictures were at the bottom of my page protectors .

i've used the peel off squares from the $1 store, and they work just as well as the regular ones.. but i really dislike the glue runners from there.. they don't stick well, or at all in some cases. There's a good one at wal-mart, called ad-tech. i think it may be the only one they sell.. it's blue. then the refils come in 2 packs. they last a very long time. i think the refills are 1.88 or something like that. I bought 10 packs in february and have 3 packs left, and i've probably made 100 + cards since i bought them.

The ones I get are acid free, permanet double sided tape runner. the brand is Miss Elizabeth's from the dollar tree.

All the ones I've seen say "acid/lignin free"

Technically though, if you're using them on cards it doesn't matter

Wow, anything acid/lignin-free where I live is about three times more costly. We have a Japanese $2 store with walls of adhesives but none of it is acid-free.

And I know technically on cards it doesn't matter, but my Mum told me last night that hand-made cards are "too pretty to throw away" and she was going to keep them. I keep all handmade cards I receive too. Perhaps we're just a weird hoarding family!

lol. i know what ya mean. i have cards that aren't even handmade from 6th grade graduation, jr high graduation, high school graduation, 16th, 21st birthdays.. not sure why, but i can't seem to get rid of cards.. of any kind!!

You're still safe using non acid free adhesives. My grandma made cards that are now 75 years old and they're perfectly fine. And she didn't have acid free adhesive to use. The scare with acid is really dealing with photographs. If you're not using photographs on your cards, any acid from adhesives isn't going to deteriorate them.

Unless you want the cards to last upwards of 250 years, I wouldn't worry about it
