Stampin' Up Heat Gun

I recently went to a stampin' up workshop and used the embossing heat gun tool thing. I've seen them before, but never wanted to fiddle with the powders and all that. BUT once I tried it and saw how easy and nice the end result looked, I WANT IT!
But I'm curious if the one's at Michael's (where I can use my 40% off Coupon ) are as good as the stampin' up heat gun. I know the stampin' up products specifically the ink pads are the best! But I wonder is there any real difference in heat guns.

Please let me know what everyone else uses and if its worth paying the extra money. Also on the powders too, which one are the best to use.

I'm partial to SU of course....

But I did have an embossing tool before I signed on, it looked like a small blow dryer. I have to say it wasn't that good - it burnt out have 6 months. I wasn't going to even bother getting a new one - but when I signed on I had to try. I have had mine for a year and half and use it all of the of time. So far so good - it works great.

I can't really comment on other powders out there - I honetly haven't tried them.

I got mine from Micheals (with the Coupon ). It works fine. Never tried the stampin' up one but mine has been going for over a year now. Worth the money I think.

I too had the one that looked like a little hair dryer and hated it. Now I have the purple Marvy heat tool that Ms carries, which I love! It's easy to handle and really concentrates the heat.

the marvy one from ms is great, never given me any trouble and with the Coupon , its a steal.

I like the Stampin Up! heat gun a lot better than the Michael's one. I thought the Michaels one was fine until I tried the Stampin Up! one. That made me buy the SU one on the spot. It didn't get as hot as the Michaels one and didn't ruin my paper when heating it. I would buy the SU one over the Michaels.

I really like the Marvy Uchida, but I also used the Stampin Up one....I would suggest to go with the one you tried and know for sure that you like it.
