Good 12x12 scanner/photo printer

First of all, Happy New Year to everyone! I hope 2010 brings you what you want/need.

I'm looking to purchase a good scanner for my 12x12 pages and I'd also like a photo printer that can print out large photos. Any suggestions? I see many of you scan your lo in to put them in the gallery. I like the way they're so clear. I take pictures of mine then load them in. They don't come out very well. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

the epson r1900 is a nice larger format printer. as for the scanner...I have a canoscan 8600ff which scans 8 1/2x11 and then I stitch the pieces together. large format scanners are still too much $$ for me to invest in.

There are a few really good scanners that do 12x12. The problem is they aren't marketed to home users and cost a lot. Expect to pay $1000 or more.

I use a letter sized scanner and stitch my pages together.

As far as printers, I have an Epson R1800 and I love it. The R1900 is it's replacement, and there is a lower model, the R1400 that also does wide format. I've got my eye on the Pro 3800 myself because I want to go wider than 13", though hit's priced at $1200.

Very carefully!

Seriously, I scan the page 4 times ( all four corners) then paste each scan in their own layer in Photoshop and line them up. They never line exactly right so I just use the layer mask to blend them together.

It sounds complicated but once you've done it a time or two it's easy.

Here's how I understand it - this is definitely true for Funtime, and I'm pretty sure it's the same for the Inspiration.The older Pazzles software, and the WinPCSign software, are older...but you can export from Funtime so that they can open them. File, Export, and choose the version that contains 14.
