Stickles Drying Time

Topic Closed
  • Heather J. Landry
I outlined some shapes in Stickles that I need to use my exacto knife to cut around... How long should I let the Stickles dry before I start messing with them? An hour? Overnight? I really don't want to touch it to see if they are dry.
  • QTScrapper
It depends on how thick you made the stickles. Try putting by an air source to help dry them, but I would give them atleast 12 hours.
  • Moxiegirl23
You'll be able to see when they've dried, but depending on application, I let them sit anywhere from an hour to overnight.

I always use a fan to dry my stickles,it usually takes 45-60 minutes. Otherwise, you'll be waiting a LONG time!

Thanks girls! I think I'm going to let them sit out under the cold air conditioning vent all night just to make sure. I really need this project to come out right, and don't have time to do it again.

This was my first bottle of Stickles, and I think I'm hooked already!!!! LOL

I use the cool setting on my hair dryer to dry my stickles and it takes about 30-40 minutes! After that I still let them air dry about another 10 minutes! They take forever to dry!!!!

But less time than other brands of glitter glues.

Like it's already been posted, thin lines take about an hour to dry all the way. Thicker coverages, longer time. Over night is usually the safest but not always true. I can get pretty heavy handed apply Stickles some times.

It's a thin line drawn around details in butterfly wings for some inchies I'm making. I'm hoping overnight should be ok, but now you've got me worried about waiting even longer Vivian.

I'm thinking about calling my LSS and ordering the rest of the batch of stickles. LOL
  • Moxiegirl23
Heather Joy, what you described should be fine in a couple of hours.
  • Amigosa
I always wait overnight for my stickles to dry.
  • Lori_B
I'm too impatient, I usually only wait an hour. But I also use my Stickles sparingly.
  • ASiverson
    Overnight should be just right.
  • Heather J. Landry
I put them on at 3 and they are dry now (I couldn't wait!) I had a deadline to turn them in ... Check out what I did. They look huge in the photos because they are close up, but these are really tiny, the photos are less than an inch big.

    Those are adorable!!!

If I had to do something really quickly, heat embossing is another option with no wait time. There's some really nice glittery powders. May not be as glittery as Stickles but they're still great.

Stickles for me some time take 45 minutes to dry, some times a couple hours and a few times over night. It really does all depend on how thick you put them on.
  • Heather J. Landry
Well of course now that I've played with them, I want to play MORE! Thanks for all of the tips girls. Next time I'm going to try using it as flower centers. I'm sure if I put it on that thick it'll have to dry overnight.

Forever! Not really but sometimes it feels like it. I rarely use them because I'm too impatient. Mine usually take about an hour. The trick is not to make your lines too thick. they are meant to dry flat no matter how much you use
  • Vivian Loves BLING
It flats some but doesn't spread out like other glitter glues. They do keep some height like dimensional fabric paints, which I also like to use, especially the metallics.
  • Heather J. Landry
I've been using the dimensional fabric paints up until now. I love the metallic ones as well. This is my first actual bottle of Stickles. I do like it, I just miss some of the puffiness of the fabric paints. I guess I'll just use both!
