Stickles Glitter Glue vs. generic glitter glue

Just wondering if anyone can explain to be if there is a diffrence between the stickles glitter glue and the basic glitter glue. Is the end result the same? I am not crazy about the results that I am getting with the generic glitter glue. I just thought I would get some of your thoughts before I order some of the stickles.

I've tried both and have to say Stickles is 10 times better! The glitter glue I tried before stickles, was flat and messier. The stickles doesn't flatten out and is more like puffy paint than glue in my opinion.

Stickles Also tends to have smaller pieces of Glitter in the glue and you tend to get better coverege.

I've been buying glitter glue from Joann's. They're pretty good. They also carry Stickles and two other types. Joann's Craft Essentials brand and Darico. I had to add water to Darico brand because I wanted it to flow better. So far I'm very happy with Joann's brand.

Scared to try Stickles but hear that it's really great. Just cost much more.

I LOVE STICKLES!!!! i have about 10 different colors. I haven't used anything else, but find the stickles really easy to use. I don't think they are that expensive, about $2.00 a bottle.

We just got a bottle of Stickles in our Kit of the Month from my LSS. It came with a card with all of the colors listed and a space on which to apply a small dab of each color. This is so you can remember which ones you have and match colors more easily - apparently the Stickles dries a little darker than the color of the bottle (or maybe the other way around). I haven't used other brands of glitter glue - the others in my class like the coverage they get from the Stickles. I haven't had any trouble with the tip gumming up in between uses, either.

Is the Joann's stuff cheaper per bottle or because the container is larger compared to Stickles?

I don't remember the price except that there was a 4 or 5 pack of small Stickles. Colors that I may not use. I found it cheaper to buy the large bottles (4 ounces) in the colors I knew I would use and use alot.

I also like to use the dimensional glitter fabric paints for those times I want it to stay "puffy."

I have used the generic glitter glue from M's and from elmers. I must say that stickles is by far much better to use.

I love stickles! Especially for fine lines and detail work. I also like Lil Davis glitter glaze for glittering my primas and die cut embellies.

I love stickles as well. Glitter glue tends to get more messy IMO.

I use the glitter dimensional paint. I love it. Stays raised like stickles, & cheaper.

I was skeptical at first but I bought one on a whim and love it! I want to get more b/c it works great!

So glad to see this thread. I LOVE LOVE LOVE Stickles, but I had been wondering about regular glitter glue. Guess I will stick to stickles

I like stickles better. the glitter is finer than most other brands and I don't think $2 a bottle is expensive at all.

I just priced glitter glue while I was out today.

At Joann's 3 bottles of Stickles (half an ounce each) cost $5.99. Where as 1.8 ounce bottle of Joann's Craft Essentials was $1.99. So that's more than 3 times more glitter glue for the same money. If you get the 4 ounce bottle that costs $3.99, then you've got 4x more for the money.

I've still not tried Stickles and I might never if it cost difference is so much.

By the way, 4 ounces of Stickles comes out to $16. Ouch!!!!

I know that J's is cheaper, but that is more glitter glue than I will use in a couple of years. My stickles work great and I have yet to use a whole bottle. I'll opt for the extra colors with more space instead of more substance with less storage space. I am glad to know that J's has a larger option if I ever need it though.

STICKLES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! RULE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! They shouldn't be more than $2.00 each. $5.99 is WAY too high!

I went through my 1.8 ounce Joann's glitter glue pretty quickly. I love the Opal color one. It goes with everything.

Where do you buy your Stickles? I have a M's (the closest - and I'm going there today), a Jo-Ann's and a HL (about 1/2 hour away) and a couple LSS. I have never seen it (I have looked) and would love to try it.

Stickles are the only way to go with this! they colors are so vibrant and look awesome! there's a person on the cricut board who sells there, with super cheap and fast shipping, for $1.79 each!! I buy all of mine from her. pm me if you need her info!

Well for a 3 pack that makes a ton more sense. Guess I need to read better next time! I get mine at Arc-ivr

I looked yesterday and they don't have the 3 pack at our J's. They would be a get coupon purchase! The only place around here to get them is LSSs for $2 a piece.

Sounds like there's no incentive to buy the three pack at Joann's unless you have a coupon - they hover around $2 a bottle individually anyway.

Stickles also have a formula to let the glitter stay were it is supposed to be instead of falling to the bottom of the container. I love it because it is thicker and it doesn't wrinkle my pages, and pretty much all the other great stuff that people have said about the stickles.
