Kinko's to scan 12x12 LOs?

DH and I are finally finished with our adoption portfolio (what our agency calls our scrapbook) and are turning it in next week. It's been a lot of work and a labor of love, so I want to keep a copy of it for myself. I will take pics of the pages, but I wondered if Kinko's/FedEx or Office Depot or any of the other copy places had large format scanners so that I could get digital higher quality copies and then have those printed and bound at one of the online photo sites. Any thoughts? TIA!

Kinkos can print them, but at about $12-15 per 12x12 page. I hear that Costco can do it for a great price.

Good to know...but what if you're not a member? Can you use just the photo services?

most FedEx office places around me do not have the capability to do large format scanning. Look at professional print shops and Postal Center USAs. Also check with your local scrapbook store ...one of my LSSs has a large format scanner and offers 12x12 layout scanning for a couple of bucks a page.

Hi! I get my layouts scanned on a color copier at my camera/photo developing store. It is not enlargements through them. They have a color copier that is the right size. It prints it on paper, not photo paper. The layouts look exact. When you put them in page protectors , you can not tell the difference. It is a color copier not a photo maker. The 8&1/2 x11 is $1. 12x 12 is under $2.

Thanks for the suggestions. I've called Costco and couldn't get anyone to ever answer the phone and it's 30 min. from my house, so I'm not driving there on a wild goose chase. No go with Kinko's because the large format copier is only B&W and scanning a page that size was going to run $10+ per page!!! I do have a Ritz & a Wolf Camera in town. Is either of those where you get your copies made? I really appreciate the suggestions everyone!

Ritz/Wolf do not have the equipment to scan anything larger than an 8 1/2x11.

So far it looks like I'll just be taking the best pics I can of them and then creating a book on shutterfly or somewhere. My sister does a lot of custom banners and signs for her job and is going to call the printer she uses tomorrow for me (they were closed for the holiday, of course). Hopefully they can do something for me & give me a "friends & family" discount If not, I'll just make do w/ my own pics and an online publisher.

I did also find a demo of a program that lets you "stitch" your pics together so you can scan them on a regular scanner and then seam them together, but since it's a demo, it left a watermark along the seams. I don't really want to invest in special software, although it looked pretty cool if you do lots of panoramic type pictures. Thanks again for all the suggestions everyone!

It is Cord Camera which is Oh & they did have some in in IN. It is a large chain but local. It is similar to Ritz & maybe to Wolf.
I know there are some scap stores which had coler copiers too. Maybe you could call you scrap stores too. Do you have a local photo developing store there. Even if it is not a chain. they may have it. Good luck. I forgot to say that I think the reason they got it is they used to use it for photo calendars I think. Customers could use it too.

I was also thinking that my friend does digital pages now. She told me places where she can get the 12x12 printouts of her pages pretty reasonable. ($1 or 2 maybe)I was very surprised to find out how cheap it really was.
My new suggestion is take pics of the layouts like you do for here. Load them on your computer. Send them to the place that is cheaper. I thought they came out as single pages & you can put them in you own albums if you wish. That may be cheaper than those bound books you are talking about. hth

You might want to check with Staples, Office Max or Office Depot - I don't know if they have it - but it's worth a call and see what the prices may be!!
