Hobby Lobby

i went into a Hobby Lobby today for the first time and I wasn't impressed at all. I have heard so many good things about it, but I was very dissapointed. They didn't havea big selection of scrapbook stuff and what they did have was poorly organized. And they only had 5 clear stamps. Are all Habby Lobbies this way, or was it just the chain i went into?

The Hobby Lobby's by my house have always had a great selection of items (lots of stamps (rubber and clear), stickers, etc.

They also have a GREAT selection on Prima flowers.

It may have been the store that you went to. You can check on their website to see if there are any more around your area that you can go to and compare.

No, the ones around here are very well stocked in the sb'ing area! Ours sell Bazzill Bling, Basic Grey paper packs, all kinds of name brand supplies!

The one near me is the exact opposite! Huge selection, new stuff, very well organized. In fact, I absolutely LOVE going there! I even did a LO about it!

I'm sorry you had a bad HL experience! But rest assured they are not all that way!

The two near me are not like that at all. They have tons of scrapbooking stuff. Hopefully you can find another one close to you that has more scrapbook stuff.

ares has alot know but they used to not. i just wish they were closer and i could go more i never get there to long of a drive

there is one by my house that is ok..and then another one that is awsome! i think it depends on what store you go too..

My HL here rocks. I shop there 10x more than Joann or Michael's. I've heard the Hobby Lobbies in the South aren't as good. I'm not sure where you're at.

I so hate that you had a bad experience...my HL has such a great selection...they have an entire isle just for stamps and ink pads...plus 10 other isles just for SB stuff!! I love it. However, I do wish they carried more tools...they do not have a great selection on those. The do have the big bite though and I want that...maybe next week they will have a good coupon!

the Hobby Lobby I go to is awesome - lots of SB stuff but the one in the next closest town completely sucks and is soo not worth the trip!

The one by me ROCKS! They even have the newest released BG---the sales are awesome, too. Mine had at least 5 isles dedicated to scrapbooking.

All of our Hobby Lobby stores here in SA have really good sb sections and selections. I LOVE that store!!!

I wasn't impressed with my Hobby Lobby either. It's almost 2 hours away and it wasn't worth the trip I made to go shopping. If I'm ever in that area again, I'll stop in but I won't make a special trip just to go there.

it may just be that one store. I have a huge HL near me and am there all the time

My HL is small, but it's really good. Tons of sb stuff, and they get in all the new BG packs, great Bazzill , Creative Imaginations , Daisy D's , Crate Paper , and DCWV packs.

I love my HL! They have a great selection at mine. I would rather go there than Michaels or Joanne's. They usually have pretty good sales too!

I used to love the HL in my college town (in NC)...there's two others in that same metro area, but I never checked them out. The one I used was just....awesome! I have to check it out every time I'm down there.

I have a HL down the street from me and it is awesome!! The 2nd one is about 25 minutes away and it hardly has anything.

I feel your pain. The HL closest to me carries a TON of stuff including much of the latest & greatest (but not a wide variety of clear stamps), they have lots of really great sales, and it is my absolute LEAST favorite place to shop.

The store is SO disorganized, the employees are less than helpful to say the least, and there are ALWAYS, I mean ALWAYS bins full of product stacked high down at least one, if not all, of the scrapping aisles. So, you're tripping over stuff, can't get your cart thru the aisle, and can't tell what the price is on most of the things as only about half seem to ever be tagged. And, don't even try to make a return, the manager has to come out, look you up & down, read the receipt 14 times, check the product up & down to make sure I haven't secretly stolen some little piece from it, and then, with a sigh of annoyance, fill out a big old form and 20 minutes later, grant me with the pleasure of a refund. Oh, my biggest beef with HL though, welcome to 2008, let's get that UPC code working for us, shall we? Lines are 10 deep with employees constantly having to check prices, me reminding them of what is on sale & showing it to them on their "list". So, yes, I do go there (shamefully admitting so) but those trips have become fewer & farther between... it is about 5 minutes from my home and I drive half hour to go pay more at Archivers or order online & wait patiently at home instead of annoyed by a cashier. Wow, thanks for letting me vent, didn't realize I was quite so bitter over it!

Your HL has employees??

I went to one north of Atlanta this past weekend. I was all excited as we don't have them where I live. This one was a dump. The only employees were the ones at the cash register. I was really disappointed!

the one in Austin off Lamar wasn't very good when I was there in April. They had TONS of home decor stuff and not much else. Maybe I hit a bad one? I dunno- I was SUPER excited to go to one since I had heard so much about HL on here but honestly, I was pretty let down. They had quite a few aisles of stickers but nothing that I couldn't get at J's or M's. Their beading section was pretty weak- J's has more. Most of their stuff seemed to be geared towards home decor tho.

There's hope for the ones that are dumps! My HL used to be the same way, 2 aisles that were not organized & none of the staff knew anything at all about scrapbooking. Last summer they did a complete overhaul of the section, expanded to 6 aisles (plus a kick-*ss clearance section); there's generally an employee in the area who can actually answer questions; and they have the new products from the magazines.

Maybe yours is on the schedule for a makeover this year?
