any tips for tags for a beginner?

I have yet to make any of my own. Have been spending some time viewing the ones on this site. They are great! I am wondering what type of techniques do you use on the tags? I plan to try to glue some letters on them for titles, or journaling, and maybe some rubber stamping too. Any other ways you use them?

I like to use them for the base of a shaker, or as a way to round up those little embellishments that seem to get lost on the page. By grouping them together the become more important, and don't seem to "float".

I used the mini tags a few times to write out my title on them (one letter on each tag) and then hang them across the top of the page..
