Spray Adhesives

Have you every tried the Spray Adhesives? If so do they work? I need to stick down a see through fabric (ribbon) and I am not sure which adhesive would be best. Any suggestions???

I've used 3M Spray Mount Atrist's Adhesive for cardstock. I'm not sure about see-tru ribbon. Maybe try vellum tape.

xyron 150 sticker maker is what I use for my stickers

You can put ribbon through that machine?? I dont have one but might be a good reason to invest in one!

I think spray adhesive is too messy (for me anyway). When I want to attatch ribbon, I've used Glue Dots, sewing, and even eylets and staples. Good luck

Thanks everyone. I have never tried spray adhesives. Now I think I will not even try it.

I like spray adhesives but the kind I have doesn't work very well for ribbon

I use my xyron, glue dots, glue strips, and staples.

I like my spray adhesive it by Creative Imaginations , it works great for vellum. But for everything else I use my glue dots or my Herma.

i used it to run ribbon thru my printer to print on worked good for me just let it sit for a min to setup and my ribbon stuck to my paper after i printed it off the brand i got is called Duro all purpose spray adhesive, just make sure put some paper down first

No! You'd never be able to control the spray well enough for that application (holding down ribbon). It would be a total mess - not the mention the overspray making a mess too!

If the ribbon is see through, a glue dot won't work either.

Are you tying the ribbon? If so, I'd go ahead and tie it tight then put a drop of glue in the bow/knot. That should be enough to hold the ribbon, especially if you use page protectors .

I like spray adhesive for certain things, but not ribbon. I have used clear tape runner, Fabri-Tac and my Xyron 250 for ribbon and they all work great. They are also making a vellum tape runner now...that would probably work for sheer ribbon!

Thanks all I ended up using tape. It doesnt show through so it was perfect. I will have to invest in the vellum tape runner. I usually put all my vellum on with eyelets. It would be nice to use something else.
