Need some new lotion--seriously dry hands here!

I wash my hands A LOT and my skin is just raw! I don't want something too greasy because of getting it on papers. I also can't have anything with milk, peanuts, or tree nuts in it (almond oil, shea butter, etc.) because my son has severe food allergies.

Anyone have any good suggestions? You'll be my BFF!

I'm not sure if it has any of the things in it that you can't use..but I love Aveeno-the extreme dry skin version.

I am looking forward to seeing what the new Tinkering Ink lotions are like. They are supposed to be scrapbook friendly. Maybe they have info on their site as to what is in the lotion.

I like the New "Olay Body Quench"...(Purple Bottle) It works good and I havnt had any problems getting it on my pages...

I love the Eucerin Calming Creme but I'm not sure of the ingredients.

Have you tried sleeping with moisturizing gloves? You can get them at places like The Body Shop or even Bed Bath and Beyond. You put moisturizer on your hands and then wear the gloves overnight. It's pretty effective and it might help you reduce the amount of lotion you have to use during the day.

I have EXTREMELY dry and cracked hands too, and when it gets really bad, I do what Bellanca said and I put straight vasaline on my hands and sleep with the gloves. I works wonders! When I can't do that, I either use udder balm (yes, it's technically for cows....but IT WORKS!) or Avon hand rescue balm. It is heavy, but it works in and keeps your hands hydrated. Hope that helps!

I'm very picky about my hand lotion - I hate anything greasy on my hands. Vaseline has a hand and nail lotion I really like, though I don't know if it has any of those things in it.

I too have very dry hands from being in water all the time. At least 3 nights a week I put vaseline on them and use white cotton gloves. I find that this does help lots. Good for feet too with white cotton socks

I'm a nurse so I too wash my hands and use alcohol based instant hand sanitizers A LOT! I use Neutrogena, fragrance free, hypo allergenic regular lotion. I only put lotion on when I get out of the shower and when I go to bed and my hands aren't dry at all. They recently came out with a fast absorbing cream (I've been using it at night) so your hands don't stay greasy for longer than a minute.

I use the Aveeno stress relief lotiona nd it works great. I keep it in my car and put it on when I am waiting at long intersection lights.

my mother used to work for a dermatologist and this was what she (the dermatologist)recommended.

well, i should practice what i preach...i have seriously dry skin (so bad that it actually cracks and bleeds from time to time) but i never have the time to do that petrolium jelly with the gloves.
so, me i like the bath and body works stuff. to be honest, its no better than the normal lotion but for me since i like the smell it gets me to use it more often.:p

Tinkering Ink has designed JUST what you are needing.

They have created a grease-less formula that is perfectly safe to use while you are scrapbooking.

I have a bottle of their "Perfectly Posh" line on my scrap table and vouch that this stuff works SO well and absolutely does NOT grease up your pretty papers.

Definitely check this out. They have yummy scented lotions, as well as non-scented for those who are allergic.

I am a big fan of Neutrogena too. I used to work all day with cardboard (which pulls out any all moisture from hands and makes them crack and bleed). This stuff works really well.

Neutrogena and Eucerin - I love Neutrogena's richness but Eucerin absorbs better so I alternate on these. Kiehls Intensive Treatment is a better, high end version of the Neutrogena but it costs more so that is only an occasional splurge.

And I gotta check me out this sb-friendly hand cream, because I NEVER put any on until I'm sure all the scrapping's done...don't wanna jeopardize any of my work!

my daughter has a very dry skin and my doctor recommended putting Aquaphor on her..it is made by Eucerin. I put it on her every night and it helps a lot. Not only does her skin get better but so do my hands..they are usually so dry and cracked from washing my hands all day but this has really helped! It is the consistancy of vaseline...it usually takes just a couple minutes to soak in but i'm not sure i would put it on right before i was planning on scrapping. I would do it at night or like right after a shower or doing dishes.
there is also a cream out there called "No Crack" and that works very well too!

I did try this at their booth and it was very nice. It lasted all day (even after hand washings and eating lunch) and did not make my hands greasy at all. When/where can we buy it though?!?

I'm not sure if this would be something that scrapbook.com would carry, since it's something people usally like to try out first, so I would check out the Tinkering Ink website directly and they should be able to direct you!

Also, you might try to get a manicure or invest in a parrafin spa... They are great for hands and feet. If I use mine 2-3 times a week with a good lotion, I can keep the cracks away even in the winter and my heels are great all summer!

Thanks for all the suggestions--some of those things do have the ingredients I have to avoid (I think the Cetaphil and I know the BBW do). I will call Tinkering Ink on Monday to ask about their ingredients.

I do gloves about every-other night...but I must wake up and take them off in the middle of the night b/c they're always on the floor in the morning!

I love Aveeno products! I use them all the time and keep small sized ones in my purse and bookbag! I even have a bottle on my desk.

When my daughter had a temporary case of dry skin, our pediatrician said go simple and just use Lubriderm. I swear by that stuff now. Nothing fancy. It just works.

You might check out kelphead.com They have some awesome lotion bars that do not leave your hands feeling greasy at all. They also have a complete ingredient list on the website too.

I'm very sensitive to lotions. I have a lot of allergies... and eczema. I can't even do Kiss My Face, which is supposed to be recommended. Weird.

Anyway, my very favorite is Fragrance-Free Curel. Be sure to stay away from lotions that have mineral oil in them, as that clogs pores. My mom swears by the Neutrogena lotion AND lip balm. She refuses to use anything else. LOL. I still like my Curel best. I've tried others, but I always go back to Curel.

Avenno is good, but I know some of their lines and others have Shea butter. The one I have here at my desk (light green label) has soy in it. And another one of theirs has peppermint. But this stuff works wonders! I've always had dry skin. Especially in the winter. I'll wake up in the morning and be covered with long red scratches all over my body. Talk about painful! So I try and use as much lotion as I can.

I love the paraffin thing but it taks so long--I dont have that kind of patience in the nail salon! LOL

My kids have severe eczema....And they use Aquaphor. It is greasy though - so it would be best to use at night with cotton gloves. Aquaphor is a little hard to find - sometimes, you have to ask the pharmacist for it. They use it as a base for prescription ointments.
