81/2 by 11 scrappers?

Wondering how many of you like that size to scrap...it is intriguing to see that format pop up in the gallery, and for a change I may just try a page or two in that size!

I started as a 12 x 12 scrapper and moved to 8.5 x 11 for a few years. Its a really great size, especially for clean and simple pages (which was my style at the time). Then I took quite a long scrapping break (over a year) I came back and I was a 12 x 12 scrapper again, go figure lol. I occaisionally still do an 8.5 x 11. You should try one, they are great fun.

I always do 8.5 x 11 size. I did 12 x 12 album once and it was so heavy, that is why I changed. 8.5 x 11 also fits on my shelf better. Your supplies go farther with the smaller size. Buy 12 x 12 paper and you always cut some to use on another page for borders.

Recently, I've been thinking about making 8x8 albums for more general, non family layouts that I want to keep but not have in the family album. I can't throw out any pictures!

FACT: Let me mention that in my survey of 12 x 12 vs 8.5 sized albums, I am the only one in my "group of scrapping friends" that likes the smaller size.

when i started out i always did 12x12 and back then i used full 4x6 photos. now i just do 8 1/2X11 or landscape and 8x8's. i love 8.5x11. lately i have been cutting my 12x12 pp down to use as background paper on my 8.5 layouts.

I'm mostly an 8.5 x 11 scrapper. I have done 1 12x12 and am doing pages for another. I don't prefer 12x12 at all. I have also done 8.5x8.5 which is fun and have an 8x8 to try. My favorite is still 8.5 x 11 though.

I only scrap 8.5x11. Occasionally for a gift or project I will do 12x12. I also do landscape and have also done them as 2 page los. I use Pagemaps and other sketches all the time. I modify the 12x12, double 12x12, 6x12, 12x6 8x8 and others to accomodate my single and double los.

I do mostly 12x12 now but I like to mix it up once in awhile..I do 12x15 and 8 1/2 x 11 and 11 x 8 1/2 and 8x8..even 6x6 and different size chipboards..that about covers it...haven't tried 24x12 or 6 x 12 but it is only a matter of time.
I love the smaller sizes for a change....less stress cuz less page to design and cover...and they're great for when you just have one photo or tiny photos.

I only do 8.5x11, and some mini albums.

I have done several; albums that size but I do 12 x 12 mostly. Most of my gallery is of a cookbok I did for my neice's wedding gift & it is 8x11. You can look at them to see.

My kids albums are 8.5x11, the family album is 12x12, my book of me is 6x6, the pet book is 8x8, my football bookm is 8.5x11, and the new puppy's book is 12x12....I do 'em all! LOL

i prefer 8.5 x 11 and would prefer to use wallet size pictures all the time if they weren't so expensive to print!

I mostly do 12x12 but it's bc there is more space. I'm not against 81/2 x 11, just haven't made 1 of those sized albums yet I will tho LOL

I luv mini albums 2 although i usually do those as gifts - Pocket Albums

I luv using smaller pics as well & 4 those who r looking 2 get them cheaper - the cheapest I've found is the Kodak machines - if u select mini prints 4 to a sheet u will get 4 smaller pics but only spend the cost of a 4x6 - all 4 pics are on a 4x6 sheet (much cheaper than a whole page of wallets)

My first scrapbook was in the 8.5 x 11. But now that I have been scrapping for about 10 years I prefer the 12x12 just because of the extra space. Sometimes I get a little too carried away with embellishments...LOL!

I've always made 8.5x11 pages for our family albums and earlier this year, I started making them 11x8.5 since most of my pix are 4x6 landscape.

I even started a thread on this topic to start getting sketches/floor plans for these.

11x8.5 Pages Challenge

I am definately an 8.5x11 scrapper. I started out scrapping in that format 14 years ago and it is still my favorite format. I do have 1 12x12 book that remains a work in progress. I possibly have more 12x12's...my grandmother kept a LOT of my scrapbooks when I got married and left home. She says I can get them back someday.

I find that the 8.5x11 format is my favorite, and its the format that is the easiest to store, archive, and scan. I've come up with creative ways to decorate 3 ring binders to use for my 8.5x11 books. Not to mention that sheet protectors for that size are really inexpensive at Wal-Mart and office supply stores.

I currently have two 8.5x11 books that are a work in progress, and will remain a work in progress until each of my boys graduate highschool. Upon graduation, each child will be presented with a memory book of their lives from the time I was pregnant with them until they graduated, their entire childhood in one massive book. These two books are a lot of fun for me to work on, especially my youngest son's. He is quickly becoming the budding artist and if he leaves his art laying around, I'm apt to nab some for his book.

As far as photos for those size books, I have most of my photos printed as 3.5x5's. Some do end up getting printed as 4x6. I'd love to get a lot more pictures printed in wallet size, but it just costs too much.

I am, and have always been, a 8.5x11 scrapper. I just began that way and haven't wanted to change. I like the smaller albumns, the way that you can use the excess 12x12 paper, and the uniformity of keeping the same paper size. Because I do 2-page layouts, I always find I have room for all that I want to do.

That is my size of choice. I also do 12x15 for my heritage books.

I like changing it up a bit, and do all different sizes.
