Making your own glue dots

So I've read on these threads about making your own glue dots and this is something I'd be interested in, but I've having trouble finding the glues I've seen mentioned. Can I ask you guys to post here what type of glue you use and where you buy it? Thank you!

I made some with the Alene's Tack It Over & Over glue that I got at Michael's. The bottle was like $4+ reg price but I used a coupon. I found it down on the aisle that has regular glues etc for kids crafts, the aisle where Modge Podge is found. I had originally bought it for another project but read somewhere you could make your own glue dots out of it so tried it. It did, indeed, make glue dots, but I'm not that happy with them. Not very strong holding ability IMO. Could have been the size I made as they were a bit on the small size, but that's the size I wanted. Think I'll stick to the glue dots you purchase. Of course, I'd made like 40+ of the ATIO&O ones (the bottle's pretty big and it doesn't take much or long to make that many) and I hate to throw things away, so I did find one good use for them. I now use them to secure the ends of my ribbons on their rolls. Keeps things neat and tidy but it's not strong enough to damage the ribbon. So they do have their purpose I guess!

I would be interested in hearing about the glue dots made out of that Best Glue Ever stuff. I think you can only buy that online though. Just read somewhere on here about it so not that familiar with it.

I have had no problems with it holding and I made 100 wedding invites with them and they are still holding up after 6 months. I didn't make really small ones but more like the medium size, so maybe size matters.

I did not have a problem with the holding, maybe it was the size that you made. I make mine in differnt sizes. I have put my card in and out of my purse and have not had a problem with anything falling or coming off.

I use the tack it over and over and really like it! I have not had any problems with it holding things and I love the freedom of making my own size of glue dots. Remember to let it dry until the dots are clear (I usually leave mine overnight)

I agree with the previous person on where to find it...I've only seen this glue at M's in the glue aisle...
