Xyron personal cutting system

HI everyone!!!!

Does anyone know if the Xyron personal cutting system is a good buy? Or should I just get the Cricut or the Wishable?

Help! My husband is getting me one, but I'm so confused which one to ask for.

I heard that the Xyron system isn't great. The cutting area is only 4x4. I don't have one so don't hold me to it but I know I saw a thread here somewhere about it.

My DH just bought me the Cricut this past weekend and I love love love it!!!!!! The Cricut has a 6x12 cutting area and I like the fact that it's independant of my computer, I just take it and plug it in anywhere to use it. It's cheaper up front compared to the Wishblade and the cartridges are about $80 but I've seen them on sale for under $60 and also on the big auction site for less.

The Wishblade is far more expensive up front but you can use any computer font you have on it. That's why a lot of people like the Wishblade better.

But again, I personally like that the Cricut doesn't have to be hooked up to a computer, it's smaller and my DH just got it on sale for $199.

You'll get all sorts of pros and cons for each here so weigh it out and then you'll decide which is best for you.

I love the personal cutting system. If you buy it make sure you go to the Xyron website to see how to use it. Like any machine if someone doesn't show you how to use it it won't work well. Xyron give 2 great demos. 1 on the mat and the other on the machine itself.

The books are amazing. If you contact an IRW rep where you are you can get the lastest books that they don't sell in the store.

The Wishblade is awesome because you can use any font from your computer. You don't even have to buy any books or cartridges any more. But IRW sell the disks for the Wishblade and they are amazing if you want to buy them. There is so much training out there for the Wishblade that you can't go wrong. Again, if someone demo's the Wishblade its easier to use.

I love the PCS because I can bring it to crops and the Wishblade can stay home with me.

I love my Xyron PCS. It may only have a small 4 inch cutting area but I find that I really don't need anything bigger than that. It's the right price and I love the books because they have a variety of die cuts and fonts in them. We bought it because it was the only one we could really afford, but now I am glad that we didn't save up for something more expensive.

I have the Xyron and I can count on one hand how many times I've used it. I have been using the Cricut all the time. If you are settled on either the XPCS or the Wishblade , I would go with the Wishblade but you also may want to consider the Cricut! No computer needed and it does have a USB port for future upgrades.

I have the Xyron PCS and love it. i've used it a bunch without any problems. I did have to change the sticky pad thingy once. As for cutting the paper down it's not a big deal. I just cut a whole sheet (get 9 squares) and use what i need then put the extras in a ziplock for next time.
