Anywhere Hold Punch

I got the MM tool kit with the interchangeable anywhere hole punch. I like that I can make three different hole sizes. But when I use it the head keeps coming unscrewed! Does anyone have this same problem or am I the only one?

I spent all that money on the tool kit and find myself using my old hole punch!

Hi Jen! I hate to say it - but I tend to have the same problem with mine. I always use my old punch for the 1/8" eyelets, and only use the MM one for the other 2 sizes. I have found, also, that the 1/8" head for the MM isn't nearly as sharp as a regular one. Kind of a bummer, I know.

Yes, I've noticed that about it not being as sharp!

It's so frustrating when you think you've punched your hole, but when you lift up the punch, the paper is just dented!

I haven't even used the other sizes of punches yet. I'm just so disappointed because I loved how it was all together in the cute little case. Now I'll have something else to haul around. (Like the anywhere punch takes up sooooo much space!)

Mine does that too. Here's the problem...if you are right handed, like most of us are, when you pull it out of the mat, you turn it slightly to the left. Because the mat was holding it, that causes it to unscrew in small increments until it is loose avery three punches or so. What I do is just twist it to the right as I pull it up from the paper.

As far as it not being sharp, mine seems really sharp to me, but that is probably because my first Doodlebug one was defective and DULL. I had to hit it four times, rotating it 1/4 turn each time, to punch one hole! I didn't realize it until I went to my first crop and saw others using it.

i just got this about 2 weeks ago and have use all 3 size heads with no trouble at all. its wonderfully sharp and havent had any of the heads come unscrewed on me and yes i am right handed. im not sure what little tool kit you are all talking about mine was just the handle and 3 heads..is that the one or is there something different?

I too have tried to use it & cant get it to do much more then dent the paper of make a mess. I went back to my regular punch unless I am desperate... Good Luck

The tool kit I was referring to was the new Making Memories tool kit with the hammer, anywhere hole punch, eyelet setter, paper piercer and more. I love love love the tool kit, itself, and would recommend it to anyone. The Anywhere Hole Punch, though, I think could be better. It works, just not as well as the one I got a few years ago - "Old Faithful"

I bought the anywhere hole punch by itself (didn't get the set) and I haven't had a problem. When I first started I was having some trouble but I learned to twist the tool after I used the hammer. It makes beautiful holes for me and I am happy. Haven't had the problem with the head unscrewing. Yes I am right handed too.
