Using Slice on Mulberry Paper

Has anybody had any luck cutting handmade mulberry paper with the Slice? I was hoping to make some nice handmade flowers using it (even bought the Basics 2 design card especially for it) and it just tore up the paper and made a big mess, sticking all over the Cricut mat. The paper was "real" mulberry paper, inclusive of fibers, so I guess that didn't help. Any suggestions from anyone who's figured this out would be appreciated.

I am guessing the paper was too thin and fiber-y, if there is such a word. Do you have another kind of die cutting system, like a Sizzix? It may work better. I am wondering if Mulberry paper has worked in the other electronic machines? I don't have any, other than my Slice to try it.

um, isn't the POINT of mulberry paper that you TEAR it??? you WANT the rough jagged edges and it's "fluffing" ability?? Or is ther a use I am unfamiliar with??

Yep, you do tear it.. but was just thinking she had some other idea of something she wanted to do with it. I do like it's torn, fluffy look.

LOL, I was just thinking that it's probably not CONDUCIVE to clean cutting by its very properties, is what I meant

Dont think there is a way to do it, but you can cut normal paper and crinkle it in your hand a whole bunch (being careful not to tear) and it will look/feel like mulberry flowers.
If I need a shape I am not comfortable tearing free hand I cut cardstock with my cricut and then glue mulberry to it. Tear bears for example.

Yeah....I have multiple cutters, and I've been pondering this one. I don't really think it would cut well on any of them.
