Need flat, matte, NON-shimmery spray

Mister Huey's doesn't seem to be available anywhere. I may decant some Distress Stain into a mister, but I'm hoping to find a more opaque product. Any ideas?

If you have an Archivers they sell some I dont remember the brand I saw them Saturday night. I will keep an eye out for you.

And I also found some others, I have not used any of these. I am actually looking into making my own. I make my own glimmer mists. I am still doing the research on the regular mist, I will let you know!

How much of a mist are you needing?

You might try to flick some white acrylic paint with a stiff bristled bruch is you wanted more of a 'thick spray' - I guess it would be more of a splatter- but perhaps if you used a toothbrush, you could get maybe more specks- still wouldn't be a MIST- but could work if you get desperate..

The toothbrush flick did occur to me, but I think at least with a spray I'll be less likely to get it all over myself and the furniture, lol.

Maybe I could just thin some acrylic paint and use it in a mister? I'll have to ask DH, he uses acrylics, maybe he'll share.

If Mr. Tim could just invent a double-ended paint dabber/paint mister, I'd be in business.

I've been looking at chain stores (no LSS in my area) and can't find the Mr. Huey's either. I might cave and order on-line.

I've seen things onine about making the mists with acrylic paints- but when I tried it last week, it was a disaster. But then again, I didnt really follow directions, which I'm sure was the problem. I think I used to much alcol. Or not enough water. Lol

maya road's maya mists are opaque. you might try those.

Mister Huey doesn't seem to be available on line either ..

Stick - what about the very old fashioned approach
- take a piece of fine mesh screen and run a paint brush over that?

I haven't seen Mr. Huey's at my Archiver's. I am going to an new LSS (except not too local for me, but I have a groupon for it), maybe they will have it.

if your looking for the splatter look, not the spray look ... a good set of water colors. grab a pencil and paint the wood and let it drip on to the paper ... its as opaque as the paint ... i've only found mister huey's online.

Memories Mist is also opaque and non-shimmer.

This was my thought. Put some acrylic in water.

I picked some up at the CK convention last summer - I haven't seem it at my lss yet.

I would try acrylic paint - you can get that at Michaels or Walmart!

Mister Huey's is Studio Calico brand. I am just figureing it out. They do have it here on this site. There are 32 colors!

There are so many products! Everyone has been talking about Mr. Huey's and I thought that was the brand. I feel so lost!

So are ya'll saying that Mr. Huey's is more opaque that some of the mists?

Actually most of the Mister Huey's on this site are UNavailable "expected soon"

Watercolors are an interesting thought as well, I do have a teensy set, I'll have to play.

Mr. Huey's are more opaque, NOT glittery and do not warp the paper so much (because they are not water-based)

I like to use them on more masculine pages

Shimmerz Coloringz are flat and non-shimmery as well. I love Mama Sings The Blues or the new Heidi Ho Blue.

You would think lol! They look awesome on their own and if you ever do want some shimmer they are great for base layers under a light shimmer too
