Can you add glitter to felt?!

I wanna get some felt shapes but was wondering if your able to add glitter to it with mod podge?! has anyone tried this? tia!

mod podge might not work very well because of the fuzzyness of felt (not sure though). Try some kind of glue from a squeeze bottle, or maybe a sticker machine would work.

i would use like a glitter glue...they also have felt sheets that come glittered...got a few of those at ac moore and michaels

I have used a glue pad for applying glitter to felt. I just stuck the felt piece (I had been using a felt ribbon) into the glue pad and then poured the glitter on top of the felt. I'll admit it was a bit messy but it worked like a charm

I just got addicted to adding Queen & Co Felt Fusion with Stickles on top of it to a lot of my layouts. Stickles is made by Ranger and ROCKS! I would definitely recommend to everyone to try it. They come in tons of color and are alot of fun. The only thing is they take a bit to dry. If you want to see a sample pm me. I have a layout on my computer that shows it!

This question brought back many happy memories of many elementary school art projects for me...soo many of them involved felt & glitter!

thanks for all the ideas. i actually do know about stckels and diffently agree with you about it being great stuff to use. Im leaning towards using the Doodlebug glitters on some felt just not sure what adhesive to use.

Unfortunately, dogs can be glittered. When my DS was 3 grabbed my ultrafine glitter while I walked in the other room. Out comes Maggie Mae looking like a Diva with her new glitter look. It took a very long time for it to wear out! I should have taken a picture but I was a little upset at the time Now it is funny.

I love using the Making Memories glitter glue, of course it would have to be painted on, but then you can see through the dried glue still for the color of the felt! Stickles might be fun for just a spot here or there though!

I think a glossy adhesive would work if you spread it thinly. I have Plaid Glossy dimensional and I assume it would work the same as Glossy Accents although I haven't actually tried Glossy Accents yet.

Also, I forgot to mention...

It seems from your post that you don't like Stickles..maybe you find them hard to use (?) but if you do have some, you can squeeze some of them out unto scrap paper and put the stickles on the felt with your finger ( or a brush or popsicle stick ). I have done that with several projects and it covers quite nicely... but that was mostly done on chipboard not felt.

I love the glitter on dog story... That is hilarious... too bad you don't have a picture of it. TFS!

I've used Stickles on felt. It works very well. I think it should work with MM glitter too, if you have a good clear glue to adhere the glitter.

I have used Stickles on felt but haven't had much luck with any other glitter that I have tried. It always seems to flake some and glitter ends up on other layouts later on, but not with the Stickles.
I also used Stickles last night on ric-rac and it worked well. I ran the ric-rac through my Xyron 150 and while it was still on the backing for the Xyron , I put the Stickles on and let it dry. Once dry, I peeled the ric-rac off and it adhered down well.

probably the best thing to do is get glitter in a spray can...I got some to do Christmas ornaments and you just spray the glitter out and let dry...and if you want to cut your own shapes you can get glittery felt sheets made that way.

I'd also like to know how it can be done without the glitter coming off the felt. I'm situated in South Africa and unfortunately we don't get those lovely glitter felt sheets here so want to make my own...for bows etc.
