About to do battle with my printer

  • Ppilgrim
Wish me luck -- I have to try to fix the red streaking problem with my printer today. If I'm not back in a week, assume the darned thing ate me or sent me totally bonkers.
  • Doreena
If you die, can I have your scrappy supplies?!

    JK, Good luck!
  • Ppilgrim
You can have a bunch of 'em now, if you'll pay the shipping. wink emoji

Turns out, my magenta cartridge has become incontinent and there's nothing for it but to replace the sucker. Totally ticks me off because it's still 80% full. I've said it before and I'll say it again -- printers are from the devil.
  • Doreena
I really don't need any more stuff!
But TY and I'm glad you didn't die... laughing emoji
  • Ppilgrim
It kinda looks like someone died though -- I'm still finding little piles of magenta toner all over the place.

    Hahahahahahahahahahahahaha

    Take photos and scrap!!!
  • Ppilgrim
Can't. I print my own photos so I can't scrapbook anything until the new cartridge arrives. In the meantime, I'm doing mixed media stuff and making a huge mess in my scrap room. No way am I taking photos of that. blush emoji

LOL, but not funny...I just had the same problem, I print all my photos too. I was on a roll with my daughter's wedding pages, I started getting all these lines on every photo at the bottom. I tried everything even tech support but nothing helped and wasted a ton of ink. So I went out and bought another Epson printer, wish it was just a ink cartridge messing up. Then I had to rearrange my scraproom to make space for the new printer which involved buying more storage cubes...at least they were on sale for 50% off.
  • Ppilgrim
Oh brother! That was a saga eh? Mine problems are my own fault for cheaping out and putting the knock-off ink in my expensive printer. I know that the printer itself is just a housing for the cartridges, and that you get what you pay for with cartridges, but I took a chance and now I have to replace one. Probably serves me right.

I have an HP Envy printer; have had it for YEARS!!!!

I have never had a problem w/ it or the ink.

**KNOCK ON WOOD I DIDN"T JUST JINX MYSELF**

I joined the HP "Ink Club" (for lack of a better term).

For $2.99 I get to print up to 50 pages (which I never use all 50, even with my daughter using my pages for schoolwork and me printing my own photos), if I need more pages, which like I said I never do, there is the option to pay a small (very affordable fee) and as part of the club they send me ink cartridges for free (as in I do not pay shipping) whenever they see my ink cartridges are close to running out. I'm hooked up to the internet so they can see it, and most of the time, the know I'm running out before I even notice! So I get the ink even before I need it, so I am NEVER out of ink!

Before I joined, I priced the cartridges I would need to buy, if I bought them at the store, like at Wal-Mart or Target, and it's cheaper paying the $2.99 a month...plus the convenience of the whole thing is awesome!

Just putting this info out there for HP owners!

Are you all better now, Peggy - or, rather, is your printer all better? I miss your layouts!!!
