I'm not much of a re-do'er -- but this may just be a part of your creative process ... and maybe you are just second-guessing yourself because it's a gift. BUT if you are happy with the final result then your forwards and backwards process IS working right?

Most of the layouts I have done I am pleased with. My very early ones don't look as good as my latest ones. If I have time down the road (I've got other sbs I'm wanting to do), I'll go back and redo the earlier ones.

Also, some layouts I do I already have an idea as to what the layout will be. Others, though, may take me a few days before I get the layout I'm looking for.

Thanks for the feedback. I've been scraping for a few years now and usually take the approach that many of you have in that if I'm not completely satisfied I usually leave it be for a bit then go back to it and re organize. I've even done this with alot of these pages....leave them "finish them" then have to redo. Maybe it's the idea that this isn't mine and I'm trying to make it someone elses as I see them doing it (if that makes any sense). Anyway, I'll just keep at it and a page at a time it will get done. Eventually. I am truly Thankful for one thing.....I only have one brother so there will be NO MORE albums for other people. EVER!!!

I have a book that I have been working on since thanksgiving and I hope to have it done this week. It was supposed to be a christmas gift. Ooops it's kinda late! I just wanted to take my time and really think about things.

I'm in the process of doing my brothers Wedding album. It's taking awhile....creative blocks and life in general have made it difficult for me to give it my undivided attention so needless to say it been in the works for awhile. My problem is, after I let it sit for a couple of weeks and go back to working on it, lay outs I have previously finished don't look quite right so I think of ways to redo them, make them better, more interesting etc. I add stuff, take away stuff, rearrange stuff. When it's done I'm much happier with the final product. The second time around for these pages seems to be the key. Does anyone else do this? I've never had this problem before....well, not to this extent. Maybe because it's a gift album I'm being a little more pickier then I would normally.
I'm curious to know how many others out there in scrap land "REDO" thier pages.

I know how you feel. I have a few pages that I made when I first started that I would like to redo, because I really love the pictures on them and I don't feel like I need to make my layouts better.

i try not to redo my pages. i usually add stuff to give it a better look.

I don't know if I do too much "redo" where I pull things off... But there are plenty of pages of mine that need to "sit" and then a few days or a few weeks later, I finish them and they feel right.
I think it's part of the process. I used to focus way too much on get it done. But now, if it doesn't feel right, I'll finish it later and without the "pressure" I do better and actually finish more!
I think a wedding album may be too much pressure for me - especially for a gift - I would give myself at least a week per page to do something like that if it's a regular 12 X 12 album.

There are several of my early lo's that I want to redo. But like Maureen, I usually let it sit before gluing down and keep coming back to it for a few days...sometimes I do get one done at one time though.

Whenever I am working on a layout and it doesnt feel quite right in the process I will leave it unglued for awhile so that I can come back and rethink. It saves having to tear it apart later.

I jusr recently finished a Heritage album that took me 4 months. Just take your time. I don't uaully redo my lo unles I feel it is REALLY bad of doesn't fit. Just have a good time with it & take your time.

I do this too. I may rearrange it with different embellies 20 times, but when it's right, I know it. I agree with everyone else. Time is the key. Take your time and get it the way you want it. The lo's I don't like so much were thrown together in a hurry.
