Heat embossing

I just read a really nifty article on the scrap review website about heat embossing. The end result looks extremely nifty. I have often thought about embossing, but never really thought about it too much. Anyway, I don't make cards just scrapbooks. I also do alot of other crafts here and there. I am wondering...are heat embossing supplies worth the investment if I only really do LOs?? How do you incorporate heat embossed elements into your LO's? Any tips to consider if I do decide to buy the supplies??

I really like the look of heat embossing. I bought it when I first started cardmaking. Then I started doing lo's and put my heat embosser way. I have been thinking about getting out of the box it is in, wherever that is:) and start using it again. Yesterday I bought the prettiest hot pink powder and I am going to us it on my lo's just as I would on a card. You can make embellies or use it to do a title with stamps.

I just got into heat embossing and I use it frequently on my los. I think it looks great. It adds a nice texture to a lo.

I use heat embossing on my layouts all the time. I'll either emboss directly on my LO, or emboss a piece of chipboard or a diecut. Or I'll stamp my image, emboss it, punch it out, and make my own embellishments. So for me, it's worth it.

I have the stuff and have done it some, I need to do it more just like everything that I have, LOL. Beautiful touch!

I started out heat embossing on my cards & other craft projects but recently have started making sb page embellishments ...... here are some chipboard letters that started out white.... I inked them & heat embossed 3 layers of clear..... I think they turned out great!

I use heat embossing occasionally on my layouts. Sometimes it is just the perfect touch. I love making embossed flourishes on my pages.

I was just going to start embossing, so I went to e-bay to find good deals on not only a heat gun, but also the powders - good luck

I frequently emboss on my LO's. I love the look it gives.

one idea I like, is to stamp a scrolled flower on white cardstock, emboss with either silver or gold, cut it out then lightly spray with several colours of glimmer mist. When dry mould the petals a little and stick on with mounting tape under the petals. I usually put a little lace and a button in the centre or emboss onto a larger brad & use this. I have also used a script stamp which looks good on fabric flowers.

I have heat embosed a few times. I really like how it comes out. If you have time check out my gallery, I'm most proud of a stamped tree I heat embossed on a LO titled "Fall"

I have used the embossing on my scrapbook pages before. If I make a die cut and there is something on it that I would like to enhance that's sometimes how I use the technique. In my area we have a stamp store that is just devoted to stamping you can find these markers a lot of people have them and they are pigment you just use thoughts and then you can really have a peace of work that looks really neat with the embossing.

All the snowflakes are heat embossed with white, clear or tinsel embossing powders in the first LO, and in the second, the daisy chain and title are heat embossed with clear powder.

the embossing powders are examples it just depends about wich colors you want to use,and you can buy the heat tool at M's with coupon!!!and off course you also need some stamps!!!

Actually no stamps are needed for embossing. My DD (15 and SOO Smart) took a q-tip applicator, rubbed it on Versa-mark, made some squiggles on a page and embossed that! It was gorgeous! So embossing powder, Versa-Mark or Staz-on and a heat gun, and no a blow dryer won't work.... doesn't get hot enough before it blows all the embossing powder off! LOL (from experience LOL)

My new favorite technique is to heat emboss chipboard. It gives is a great finish and is so much easier than covering chipboard in paper, then glossy finish, drying time, inking edges...

Heat embossing is more simple.
