Does anyone know how to do this??? I would like to make some so they look metal, I know you can do this with heat embossing, but I don't know where to start and what materials are involved....Any help would be great....Thanks so much in advance!!!

I read a post on this board awhile back where someone used the corners of old envelopes....she said she just cut across the corner of an envelope and there is a paper photo corner....I am sure you could emboss these to look like metal....I thought it was a good idea so I have been snipping my corners off and saving them.

great idea carol!

as far as making them look metal...I would probably heat emboss the corners with silver.

Either that or use silver paper (not metal paper, but mirrored silver paper), use a punch to punch out squares and then cut the squares in half diagonally to make sure that all of your corners are even. Just adhere the corners on top of your item to give the illusion of photo corners although they are not really.

lol...I love the envelope idea. Can you still mail things in an envelope with the corners cut off?
I guess you can always embellish them to match however you wanted with paint, markers, embossing etc. Very versitile ideas!

Thanks for the envelope corner idea Carol!! I love that......what a great way to recycle stuff that comes in the mail!!

Here's another way to make a quick and simple corner that slips over your photo's corner:

*Cut a little strip of paper 1/2" x 2".
*With the paper laying horizontally in front of you,
fold both ends down toward you, as if you are folding a paper airplane.
*It should now look like the shape of an arrow pointing up.
*Turn over and slip it over the corner of your photo.

Make four for your photo! You can vary this, by using decorative scissors to cut the lower edge of the strip before folding. This is a great way to use scraps.

I have the photo corners sizzix die. They don't make a pocket, you have to glue them down with some type of adhesive. You can make them out of whatever material the sizzix will cut though.
