Tena, thank you so much for your lovely comments on my layouts. I usually keep an eye on my favourite brands and make a note when new items are being released. Then I see if I can get them cheaper in a sale or on another website. I must admit I exceeded my self-imposed budget limit this month, but what the hell, I had to cheer myself up somehow.....
Petra, your "censored" page is brilliant...but I really must stop looking at your gorgeous pages as I start going down the rabbit hole for the supplies LOL (like I need one more single thing). I have lots of AALL & Create and Funky Fossil supplies now, I just have to start using them. I'm off to check out the rubber stamps, it's a good thing that some are available on Etsy, otherwise the shipping prices would prevent me buying. Thanks
Ladies your submissions this month have been fabulous! My apologize for being away so long, it's been a hectic month for me. I will try and do a better job of checking in as I really LOVE seeing all your fabulous MM work!
Elizabeth I loved all your cards and that vintage layout is just fabulous. Your mother's wedding day photo is so priceless!
Kimberly your layouts have been amazing also! I can't even choose a favorite, but the colorful one is just extraordinary! I can't tell if you did that one on a printed paper or if all that fun confetti, bits and bobs were stenciled in by you. In either case, your creativity really shines through!
Petra you are a rock star this month! Wowser so many fabulous submissions. Your creativity seems to know no bounds! While I can't pick a fav, the MM work you did on Urban Biker is so cool, I just love it!
Tena I finally finished this crazy layout but still need to get pics of it so I can post it. I have to take photos in my laundry room around 10am, but that hour keeps getting by me and photos taken later in the day just come out too dark. Hum...I'll set an Alexa reminder for today, maybe that will help me get it done! lol
Thanks Tena, yeah that is weird how they do it. BUT DANG IT, THAT'S ANOTHER SCRAPBOOK COMPANY I DIDN'T EVEN CHECK OUT ON NSD!! I guess my wallet thanks me I'm waiting on an ACOT order as well and have zero idea on when it will even ship. PSL has the prettiest collections and I love the paper thickness and even their sticker thickness. I used all of the stuff from that mystery box I bought that I thought I didn't really like but it is growing on me for sure! Thanks for the love on my layout LOL, it really does look better in person...but lately I am finding that my photos are getting lost in my layouts...I really need to figure that out. Maybe I should be printing all 5x7's or 8 1/2 x 11's
Kimberly, love the PLS products you used on your page. I just got 2 orders of PLS stuff, I really love the bright colors and fun words. But let me tell you I don't know if I'll order any of it again any time soon. I made my first order from their site online (of older collections) because a lot of stuff was on sale, well I didn't read the part about their PP is all made to order and they don't print it until you order it. I place an order on April 6th and received it on May 9th. I already had an order in over at ACOT a few days before, around the 1st of April and I knew everything was pre-order but was expected soon. I didn't get that order until a few days in May before the online one. Making sure I read all the fine print from now on haha, at least now I have lots of new goodies
I used Prima and Stamperia Moulds with DAS Modeling Clay, Metallique Wax on each of them, Embossing Powder with Versamark on the Reneabouquets Beautiful Board, Stamping, Glitter Glass, O Beads and RB BBeads.
I used Dina Wakley collage paper (Things That Grow) and stuck it to my white card BG, using collage medium. I stamped the abstract shapes using acrylic paint and coloured the Dina Wakley flowers using Posca (acrylic paint) pens. I then stuck washi tape onto scrap card and die cut the outer banner frame, then used a brayer to apply acrylic paint to a scrap piece of white card, then die cut the second banner frame. The mini white dots were stenciled, using opaque crackle paste.
Dawna, thank you so much for your lovely comments!
Sadly, Blue is not my dog. He belongs to our neighbour's twin sister who rescued him 4 years ago. He is such a big cuddle monster, in his teens now and showing attitude and sass, but in a cute way. I have severe cat allergies and also show symptoms with most dogs - apart from Blue! He is an English Sheepdog and Standard Poodle cross and I can be around him without experiencing any health issues. I love it when he visits, he is very photogenic and knows it too!
Petra I really loved the water effect you created on your previous layout. Such a cool technique you used. Makes me want to break out my watercolors! lol
Kimberly I'm so sorry to hear that you are missing your daddy so much. Big hugs for you. I'm afraid I know just how you feel. My daddy passed in 2015 and we were inseparable. He was the best dad ever and I still miss him everyday. I'm so glad you aren't mad at your Make a Splash layout, it came out fabulous! I can not believe how fast you create layouts. I'm a complete snail!
Petra your I AM 5 layout is so darling! I'm really loving your hanging ornaments, so creative! Is this your pup? S/he is so adorable! I'm afraid we don't have any dogs, but our cat Sparky is an orange tabby, and OMW what a little rascal this guy is! He is always up to something lol Your Easter layout came out fabulous too! I just love your cluster work and this layout reminds me that I need to try out a MM layout with just white cardstock. I've yet to try that out.
Elizabeth your My Patch layout came out wonderful also! I love the vintage feel of it and what a great job you did on all your flower work. Nice! And your Paris card came out wonderful too. I'm sure Kelly love it! Nice job on your Birthday card as well. You gals are really tempting me with your watercolor techniques! Watercolor is one of my favorite mediums.
It's been a complete whirlwind of activity at my place this month, but after Tuesday, my sister returns home, so I'm hoping I can finally finish up my Aubrey MM layout to share. Enjoy the day everyone and keep em' coming!
I used Tim Holtz Distress Collage Medium to apply the napkin to the card and used Reneabouquets Diamond Glitter Glass on the roses as well as TH Distress Mica Spray.
LOL @Dawna.s Place I found that awesome paper pad and it really reminds me of 49 and Market and then I saw a DT on 49 and Market make a layout similar to that one and I had to try it and I am def not mad at it!! I loved how the frames turned out with using water acrylic paint and distressed oxides...us Virgos really must be attracted to teals bc it is def one of my FAVORITE colors! This one had some tears to it, I was really missing my dad yesterday when I came across this pic of us in 1998. Yesterday was his birthday and tomorrow will mark the 5th year of his passing and my heart is still Thanks for the love
I did stamp the water effect using 49 and Market's stamps called Gabi's Ripples. I covered the stamp in DO inks Tumbled Glass and Chipped Sapphire, then spritzed it with water and stamped it onto the BG. I used a fine paint brush to distribute "puddles" of concentrated ink to achieve a softer look.
Wow what great submissions ladies! Elizabeth, purple is one of my favorite spring colors and I love that gorgeous image.
Petra your layout made me long for a beachside sunset. What a fabulous job you did on this layout. I've never tried Baked Textures before. It's giving that beachy weathered look, very cool, I like it! Love all the stamping, did you create the water effect also? You have such a great design eye and seems you pull these beauties off so effortlessly.
Kimberly I LOVE this layout! Of course my favorite color is soft teal, so the color story is right up my alley. I really love all the beautiful flowers you created, great stamping and your design work is so creative! I love layers and clustering, they really make your focal point sing. Please tell me that you're NOT mad at this one!
Besides stamping and stenciling (with transparent crackle paste) I altered the chipboard shapes (wheel and anchor) and heat embossed them using Seth Apter's Baked Textures.
If you love working with mixed media, you're in the right place! Not sure what mixed media is?
