1 or 2 page layouts? I mostly do 2 page layouts but would like so see what others do.
Which do you prefer and why? 🙂

I do some of both. Depends on what photos I have or what I want to show. If I have several photos I want to include (and I have trouble narrowing that down sometimes) it will be a 2-page LO. If I only have a few or want to focus on one or two photos it will be a single page LO. My albums are in 3-ring binders and mainly chronological rather than doing an album for an event or vacation. That allows me to easily shuffle single pages in between 2-page layouts if needed. It also lets me go back and add something later if I scrap something out of order chronologically.

Thank you for your response! I'm horrible at narrowing down photos..haha. I'm glad to hear you do both because sometimes my OCD tells me it won't look right if I do single pages and don't have two pages that mostly match. Which I'm sure is not the case! I like the idea of using both.

I do a mix as well. Depending on the event and the number of photos and the story I want to retell. When I add them to an album, if they are singles I try to at least colour match the opposite page - just more pleasing to the eye. Mine are definitely not chronological except in the order I scrap them not the order of the events or even years. I go through my old photos regularly and it is funny how something always grabs my attention and has to get scrapped. Even if it was years ago.

Thank you! Do you buy matching embellishments for your layouts or make your own somehow? I've been struggling with having embellishments.

I sometimes buy the matching. Mostly I look for bargains at discount and then mix and match. I use dies a lot. I also fussy cut elements from the papers I am using. At times I will make my own

To unify facing LO's that go together, I usually focus on color and pattern rather than matching embellishments.
I also use many of the techniques that Kathy and Branson use.

Thank you! I would like to use smaller photos sometimes as well but I don't print my own pictures and can't seem to find anywhere that prints smaller than 4x6… except for wallet size and I don't need several of the same print to do that.

Do you have a photo grid app on your phone? I use the photo grid app to place 2 different photos on one 4x6. That would be the same as sending one 4x6 photo to your photo printing place of choice and having them print it but you get 2 different photos.

On this example, I placed 2 different photos on a 5x7 and then printed it myself, though my photo sizes were (approximately) the 4x4 Instagram size so it didn't fill up the full 5x7. I just trimmed off the excess white space:

If you have the app you can play w/ the different photo sizes and include several different smaller sizes on one grid!
I've done 4 photos on one 4x6 before.

I have an Android and my app is called "Photo Grid".
Not sure what it would be on an iPhone, however for both Android and iPhone, you can always do a search in the app store.

I totally get the OCD. Except I suffer more from CDO - same thing but alphabetical order the way it should be.

Thanks for the tip on the photo grid app. Will definitely need to check that out as well.
