New Becky Higgins Sketches--Did you submit?

Today is the deadline to submit layouts to Creating Keepsakes that were created using the new Backy Higgins Sketches. I actually got some scrapping done and submitted two layouts. I don't expect to have them published, but it was great to have that "kick in the pants" and creative springboard to finally finish these layouts.

Did anyone else submit? If so, how many of the sketches did you do?

I submitted 7 sketches and hoping to finsh 2 more tonight but not sure the timing deadline. I had issues sending the emails as the box kept sending back to me saying it was full! I love those sketches! They are all in my gallery!!

I had troubles e-mailing my sketches, too! I was finally able to get them to go through after about 5 tries.

Good luck to you! I **loved** the Kalie layout. That is SO precious!!

I did a few of them, although I don't really like how they turned out. I have a hard time breaking "away" from the sketch, if you know what I mean. However, I'll probably submit them anyway... it wouldn't hurt!

I submitted one...maybe I will work on one more tonight to up my odds!!! The DIRT BIKE LO in my gallery is the one I submitted...I am crossing my fingers!

I submitted a couple, but I felt like what Heather said, it was hard to break from the sketch much. Leora, if I don't see that dirt bike ad in her book, there is something seriously wrong!

I agree...It was hard to break from the sketch. I kind of did with one, but not the other. Oh, well! At least they got me scrappin' again.

Can't wait to hear which Neighbors get a 'sketch call' from CK!

........This from the woman that took almost a month to complete 2 layouts, and then almost missed submitting because she thought the deadline was a different day!!

They're all in my gallery: Pappa is home! , Our Cheerios Baby , and Shoes . I don't have any delusions about her choosing any of them. I just think that she sees my name and says, "What, her again?! Next!" ha ha ha ha ha ha ha... Seriously folks, I'm pretty happy with how they came out and I'm even happier that I finished even more layouts for my scrapbooks. Good luck to everyone!!

Linda!!! Those layouts are fantastic!! I especially liked "Pappa is Home"...The colors and photos are so striking!!

I agree with Beth...it's good to get a kick in the pants. I submitted two layouts. I also had MAJOR problems with submitting, kept coming back "unavailable." That was frustrating!! Scrappy Chic-I thought we couldn't submitt LOs that we had posted online...am I wrong??

I submitted one, it's in my gallery. I also had a hard time breaking away from the sketch as well. Everyone's layouts are amazing, can't wait to see who gets published! I also had problems submitting, came back as undeliveralbe, but I think it worked the second time.

Thanks Janice! I figured it was time to show off my true ugga-mug - lol!

Anne - a lot of us post layouts that later get picked up, so it's sort of personal preference about posting what you submit. Some think it helps their chances, some don't.

I submitted 5--these were my first BH sketches. I busted my butt, trying to finish more, but I'm pretty happy that I got these done. At least it forced me to scrapbook lots of photos!

Does anyone know how long it takes before they start letting people know?

Thanks, Sue & Beth! I'll just console myself with upcoming publications of other stuff I've done once these have been rejected. ha ha ha ha ha Then I'm going to submit them everywhere else!! LOL

Anne - I always post layouts I've done here at sb.com, whether I plan to submit them or not. With how quickly new layouts are uploaded, I don't think many layouts are viewed by that many people, so I don't believe it ruins the "freshness" of a layout. But like Melissa said, it's personal preference...and I just like to share.

I never got around to it...they didn't work with what I am scrapping right now so I didn't feel I could just scrap pics only to submit....maybe once I get REALLY good I will do that!

LOL!! Not this time! Bummed, but oh well... such is life. I need a few more hours in every day! Unfortunately scrapbooking doesn't get to be the priority sometimes as much as I want it to be.

I am going to try to whip up at least a couple of the new Simple Scrapbooks sketch thingys. Wish me luck!!
