Virtual Crop Week #14

I'm home!! I'm kind of itching to bring out the stuff I bought on the trip.. especially the 12x12 Once Upon a Time stack *hehe* Thinking of using one of the pages on Jimmy's anniversary card, but not sure.

Well..not quite nothing. There was a book store. The sisters of something, my memory is terrible! As we went in, I saw it was a Catholic book store and remembered a book a coworker recommended and to buy it there. Weird..normally I wouldn't go downtown like that. Anyway, the book is "Miracles Do Happen" by Sister Briege McKenna..I've been wanting to read about her life for some time, ever since I heard about her.

So, now I can.

I plan to at least plan a LO tonight..I've got a headache right now, from being in the heat all day. Two cups of coffee, and I feel a bit better. I know, hot coffee for a hot day is kinda weird. But, it works.

You were downtown and didn't visit me!! *hehe* :-p My work isn't a very visitor friendly place anyways :-p

Grrr! I'm wanting out of the house but trying to be a good girl with spending so I can save money to fly out to GA in a month

We just got back from http://www.hocm.org. The kids had a blast! I am so tired right now.

Vivian, you inspired me to go through boxes of stuff last night. So I am reclaiming my scrap space in the spare bedroom and also making room for my sewing machine. I am glad I did because I found dd's keepsake birth certificate in the bottom of a bunch of junk papers! My recycling bin is very full now and it feels so good to be rid of all that paper that I did not need.

Maybe tonight I will actually get some scrapping done. We shall see!

they will .... Its just if I sit around and think about all the whole Boston thing like I did to day (was sorting papers for the trip) pure panic sets in ... just the terror of making those HUGE decisions can be a little (lot) overwhelming ...
But a few episodes of Friends and a little scapbooking just fixed the whole thing ....

I'm glad you were inspired. I've emptied 3+ boxes of stuff. Most of it ended up in trash. I had to ask myself if I was really ever going to use them or did I need 20 leftover invitations to scrap a layout. Yeah, I've been doing alot of today!

I'm on episode 22 of Farscape. I see why he became known as "You've gotta be kidding me."

I also got my movies. So I'll have to watch those quickly so I can get the DVDs for season 2 of Farscape.

That's where depression starts. Obsessing, not being able to think of anything positive. We've learned the early warning signs for when I start into that. If we catch it early enough, it doesn't disrupt our lives.

Scrapping is really therapy for me. That and this web site. Always someone here.

Worrying is a form of fear. And you're right. It never helps.

Praying really helps me and knowing that even if I'm not in control, Someone I know is.

I've got four empty file boxes begging for stuff to fill them up with.

I'm now sorting books; fictions, how-to's, etc.

I'm going to have to do that in my DD's B/R, it smells like a cat box in there. Going to tear out the carpet and pad. Then I plan to seal the floor with some Kilz. Landlord won't do anything (he made me so mad the other day I told him I thought he was on his way to being a slumlord). I've already put way too much into this friggen trailer to make it a bit more livable, but I want her to have a B/R that's at least not stinky. I promised myself if I get the stuff in the L/R cleaned up and her bedding washed I could work on one page. Then after I spray the L/R for spiders I can work on another page, and so on... all the pictures are on the pages just need to add journaling and finishing touches.
And now my BSF called and asked if I could make another cake for another children's event at church. of course I said yes, but I'm cheating I told her she needs to get a frosted but undecorated sheetcake from the grocery store and then I will decorate it for them.

for me it is that they are two walking miracles ... Anika was never suppose to be able to talk or crawl and she is the most talkative and hyperactive kid I know .. and they told us that Gabriella would have to be committed she would be so dangerous to herself and others ...

You'd never believe that if you saw them .... thats what lots of patience and faith can do ... but reading all those doctors letters and stuff can be hard so thats why I try not to ...

And they have an amazing attitude ... When Anika was asked why she only had one ear ... her answer was why do you have two ...

I don't understand the USA fascination with carpets ... I love that in Iceland we have hardwood floors or some other surface that is easy to clean .... I hate vacuuming ... not that Im a big fan of cleaning ...

I caved!! I went HL to buy the cards on sale and then use the 40% of coupon on Vellum :-p Then i went to Border's to pick up Jim's bday/anniversary gift I put on hold from online.

I decided I am only making 1 card because his Bday and our anniversary are a week apart so its going to be a BDay/Anniversary box

lol! Well I really want to start buying stamps & ink pads now - I think they are a better deal than stickers 'n such all the time :-p Mainly because they're reusable.

Other than that I don't really NEED anythign right now - I have enoguh to get me by.

The cards weren't as big as I like but that's okay I suppose...

There's a family at our church who had a little girl with a genetic birth defect. I can never remember the exact name of the defect. But she was never supposed to be able to talk or communicate or walk. She walks and signs since she is hearing impaired. She's 4 now and amazes the doctors. You can't tell that there's anything wrong but her hearing. She's like only 6 months behind developmentally than kids her age.

Oh, she'll turn her head away when she knows she's in trouble. Or if she's going to told anything she doesn't want to know.

The others are actual filing boxes. I guess I could tear them down for later use.

I think my MM timmer is broken ... I'm going to contact them tomorrow ... every time I use it I have to file down the edges ... That cant be right ...

But I love it ... maybe Ive overused it ... I don't know ....

hehe Anika does that ... when I'm mad at her and asking her why she did something ... she tells me that she didn't hear me and points out that she is partly deaf ... love that ... and when her sister is nagging her she switched sides so her bad ear is turned to her sister that way it doesn't bug her ... hehe .... love to able to do that sometimes .. hehe ...

I'm hoping next week Hl will put more stamp stuff on sale but doubt it since it was last week. I was too exhausted from my trip to make it out when i got home

I went to a store in Minneapolis that is called Pretty in Ink and that was the stampers heaven ... just love it .... I bought a bunch .... but my fav right now are clear ones ... they are so much easier to put in the exactly right place ...
Love the Fancy Pants line of stamps ... and I have to have the Maya Road ones ....

Well..no LO. Had company-AGAIN. I was already exhausted and hungry, all I kept thinking was "go home."

So, they're gone. I ate. Now I'm just exhausted. Not even 9pm and I'm ready to go to bed..

Tink, I hope this doesn't offend you but sometimes I think it's just easier for doctors to write kids off as a lost cause, when all it takes is some determination and hard work on the parents part to make all the difference in the world. Your kids are lucky that you and your husband didn't take their word as is. It shows in all your layouts that you have happy, beautiful children that have given what god gave them and made the best of it.

That is a great attitude! It always amazes me what I can learn from kids! Sometimes, my DD will say sth that makes me rethink my whole "adult" attitude. I often find myself rushing thru life too quickly w/o stopping and smelling the roses, but kids will never do that. They see and hear everything, even if they cannot 'see' or 'hear'. Kids are truly gifts from heaven in that aspect.

Vivian, I'm back from the road trip and I have to confess I actually did stop by and shopped at a LSS in San Francisco! My excuse is that they carry some stuff that's sold out here in AZ although our LSS here are pretty huge and well-stocked!

I say YAY to us strong kids I was burned in a Xmas tree fire when I was 2 1/2 yrs old. In & out of hospitals for skin grpahs 'n blah blah blah... Doctors told my mom I'd probably never be abel to tie my shoes because I have fused(?) knuckles in my left hand. PFFFT! Have they seen how fast I can type on a computer?!?!

My parenst are just like you Tink, never ever let me feel that I was different than anyone else. I thank them for that now.


Of course now days I think how strong I was for that, but having Jimmy gone for his Army training is wrecking me. He tells me to be strong for him and i cry 24/7 - that's not being strong! Luckily he's the bestest boyfriend EVER and tells me cryign is oaky b/c i hurt & that's not what he meant by beign strong. I dunno, i just wonder where my strength has gone lately.. *sigh*

SOOOOOO..aaaanyways... i swear i like the sound of my own typing or something with everything i type *lmao* You can all wake up from your naps now ;-p

Well, I collapsed 3 of them for later use. Hey, I paid for these. So there's only the black faux leather one that I'll put only sb related stuff into like 8x8 albums and supplies for later use.

I'll need to go thru that stuff in the wardrobe but not this month! I do need to straighten up my sewing area. I would like to use that scrapping some. Would you believe I've not used a sewing machine in any of my layouts. I've hand sewn but not machine.

Both my tables have stuff that need a "home." {{sigh}}

I found a 2006 calendar my dd had made that has her boys in it. I'll put that into an album.

I'm so far behind in 3 threads are rather fast moving. I didn't even check in them today! I'm really off. That's so unlike me.

i found out lots of things about my dad AFTER he died, like how one of the ships he served on was part of the Apollo recovery program and recovered Apollo 11 and 13 (while he was there!). I'm not sure I'll scrap his trial since we are both still traumatized by it (I freak when I see a Police Car following us), I did write about it in my journal and I'll probably just type that out, put it with the court papers and leave it at that.

If I had my way, I'd rip out all the carpet in my condo and replace it with hardwood. it's this hideous yellow-beige and I hate it. but we don't have the money to replace, and I really don't want to move everything around right now to replace flooring (we just finished getting everything where we want it.)

crying is good. it's healthy. if you weren't strong, you wouldn't be online, you wouldn't be scrapping or shopping or going on with the day to day. just because you're crying because you miss him, doesn't mean you're not strong. it just means you miss him. my mom was a military wife, i got my strengh from her. she didn't cry where we could see her (my brother was 2 and I was 4), but she kept us going. you don't need to "BE" strong, you "ARE" strong!

Hey I'm back ... and up and dressed and so are the girls ... since its rater cold outside me and the girls lay in bed and watched the Disney channel and now I have to try to get the theme songs out of my head ....

The weather is kinda bad here so guess what ... I can spend my time scrapbooking ....

Bad weather is a great reason to stay inside and scrap!! It is supposed to be pretty hot this weekend and I told DB that I would probably not be spending a lot of time outside (hot weather and I don't get along). He just rolled his eyes - he knew exactly what I was up to!

My pc has 8 virus and 259 possible problems with cookies. I'm running some security software to fix all these. {sigh} Hope afterwards pc will run faster and better.

I'm taking DS and my mother out to do lunch and then shopping. Tonight I'll be taking my son to a youth library function. And I was just informed by my dh that Saturday we'll be taking one or both of our grandsons to the beach with us. Lots of photo moments there. So other than these I plan on being here! Hopefully scrapping tonight.

I do have a file drawer full of stuff I probably can throw away so, I'll do that too before my final clean up.

Now to finish Hitchhikers Guide this morning so I can send both of these movies back and start on season 2 of Farscape.

Viv, you are such a busy woman!! I do not know how you do it all *hehe*

Tonight will be the last spurs game so we can sweep it and become the NBA Champions Woohoo!! Work is lettign us wear spurs gear, but no jeans - how retarded!!
