Craft felt - use Cuttlebug dies to cut a couple of each size, vary the colors for a more interesting marigold.
Stack together, staggering the layers so they fill in around each other.
Hand stitch once or twice through the flower pulling tight to cinch it all together. Use a brad if you have one that works if you prefer to avoid needle and thread.
I clipped in to make petals, but it didn't really look all that necessary. Just added a little dimension.
It's not perfect, but it's sure pretty!
